ryzen ram oc;'ing is no joke. 10-20 fps gains can be had across the board.

im hoping my bdie 2x16gb gskill kit will oc to 4000 cas 16-19-19 1:1 or 16 to 17 if i have to... but if not either of those im gonna settle for where its at now, which is 3600 cas 14-14-14

Yeah it seems its just for the ekstra cash. Thats why i also link to a better kit, for maybe less money.

The term sweetspot is used incorrectly. It referes to the max speed that you can slap the fastest sticks in and get them to run which is 3600mhz for Zen 2 and now 3800mhz for Zen 3. The difference between the sweetspots is that you can still clock higher but you have to manually do it. Thus on Zen 2 going from 3600mhz to 3800mhz you have to manually set the IF to 1900mhz to support 3800mhz memory and then proceed to tweak the timings. Conversely, you'd have to do the same with Zen 3 when going to 4000mhz ram and 2000mhz IF. Essentially what it means is that the maximum speed the Infinity Fabrick (IF/fclk) will run went from 1900mhz on Zen 2 to 2000mhz on Zen 3. The sweet spot of each is 100mhz below the maximum.

All reviews beating Intel use CL16 3600 though, so that may be the sweet spot.

All reviews beating Intel use CL16 3600 though, so that may be the sweet spot.

And the great leaks were running CL14 3200mhz. There's a gain to the higher speeds but it ain't much but ppl go crazy over it and I think its more to do with OCD. Sometimes I suffer from that predicament to run faster this for no reason than to know it is running it, lol.

It's far cheaper to buy the same kit with 3600MHz CL16 (B-die GTZN, not CJR GTZNC) and manually tune it to 3800MHz CL14.

from everything i have read, zen 3 is 4000 1:1 and i intend to try to hit that speed. at cas 16-19-19 1.41v on my b-die kit. if that fells i am going to give up and play it safe with my 3600 cas 14-14-14 settings.

It's far cheaper to buy the same kit with 3600MHz CL16 (B-die GTZN, not CJR GTZNC) and manually tune it to 3800MHz CL14.

3800 CL14 where already introduced with Zen 2. That is not new. Also 4000 MHz 16-19-19-39, why those. We know Zen likes low timmings, so why not release what they all ready have. 4000 Mhz CL15-16-16-36 kit in there Trident Z RGB line up.

I run my 4 8gb sticks of neo 3200 CL14 memory at cl16 3800 and 1900 fclk without issue

Having. Even hight binned memory at 4000.abwing able to hit fclks of 2000, that is a welcome addition and I shall be grabbing some. Need 64gb in my rig anyway

They are all C14, C16, C18 kits, which Ryzen likes better than odd numbered CL kits.

I'm aware. The problem is when Neo line first came out, and even now, their are cheaper kits that do the same specs or even better specs while still being cheaper. If it is QVL on your mobo list, it doesn't matter, thus making Neo only a cash grab for those wanting to do quick easy builds.

Thanks, I was initially put off doing this due to the lack of availability of the GTZN in Australia and not wanting to end up with the GTZNC but ultimately found a couple of stores that sold GTZN kits. On my 3900X, they ran quite easily overclocked to 3800MHz with CL14 timings with a 1900MHz Fclk.

Sadly, the 5900X I have is a different story and refuses to hit 1900MHz for the Infinity Fabric clock. Currently waiting for a BIOS with updated AGESA code, which will apparently provide far more leeway.

yes this is what i did.
so i've got a decision to make...


so got some 2x16GB G.Skill 3600 ram.... would be nice to double up to 64GB.... same kit... but would going to 4000 1:1 IF on Zen 3 be worth it even in terms of performance from this kit we're talking about?

sounds expensive?
