K10 Breaks 30,000 in 3DMark06

If this is true, I congratulate AMD for the job well done, but you are forgeting someting... the K10 is better than Conroe and Kentsfield cores but about Penryn i don't know if it's better since C2D came out after K8 and it has a great performance increase about AMD. This is going to be the same I presume.

2 2900's dont score just 20+ on stock in 3dmark 05.... this would be 3dmark 06

3Dmark06 is multithreaded, 05 isn't. I score about the same in both 05 and 06 because of that little fact.

12k for a CPU score isnt so unrealistic. Ever since K7 the AMD architecture has always been much more efficiant than Intels, it wouldnt surprise me if they have done it again. I personally wont hold much weight until I see solid proof, and with how much money AMD has lost, these new CPUs are gonna be expensive.. so they better be cum-tacularly awesome.

weres the proof i think a overclocked QX6850 at 5.1Ghz would be pretty close to a stock AMD K10 in mid range and looking at 3D Mark 06 online the top score is on a Blitz Extreme motherboard with DDR3 and just below that the asus striker extreme that is oced higher but the Blitz Extreme bets it because of the DDR3 memory

You guys know nothing about NDA leaking.

If you don't sign the NDA, chances are you're not allowed to actually play with the hardware.

He probably watched someone.

Besides, futuremark doesn't let people publish pre-release scores a lot of times too.

Honestly, I kinda hope these results are true. It'd make for a more interesting competition between Intel and AMD. I'm not a fanboy, and I'll just go for whatever component is better at the time. I like seeing competition though because that way there's a better chance prices could be lowered .

But right now, I can't believe this, not until I see some hard evidence. It could be possible though, the barcelona is true quad core rather than a 2 dual cores on one chip. Honestly I don't know how much of a difference that makes between that and true quad-core.

should make a big diff the chips are way diff architecture adn the intels are saddled with comunicating accross intels overtaxed FSB AMD chips wont have that issue due to 1 they have onboard mem controllers 2. the ues HT instead which operates faster (in most cases). heck my s754 still has a higher data rate than a extreme edition intel 1600mhz stock freq. vs 1333 for an intel now im not saying mines faster in any way but just pointing it out

The particular piece of equipment that was briefly in our possession allowed us to run 3DMark06, the most important to overclockers worldwide, and Everest 4.0, our favourite memory benchmark..

Maybe they didn't know what was really in the machine....maybe the IDs were masked.....WHO KNOWS!

Maybe they knew better, than to tell the whole true story........
