ASUS has today prepared a gift for everyone involved in the PC community. The company announced that starting from today, prices of PC components like graphics cards and motherboards will get increased. Apparently, ASUS has decided to adjust the prices due to the increased cost of components, logistics, and operations. It is reported that the company was working closely with its partners to minimize the increase of pricing, however, that has turned out to be impossible and ASUS has been forced to increase prices. Starting with ASUS'es official store, over the retailers like Newegg and Amazon, consumers are expected to see increased pricing of ASUS components.

Juan Jose Guerrero III - ASUS's Technical Product Marketing Manager said:
Update regarding MSRP pricing for ASUS components in 2021.This update applies to graphics cards and motherboards* We have an announcement in regards to MSRP price changes that are effective in early 2021 for our award-winning series of graphic cards and motherboards. Our new MSRP reflects increases in cost for components. operating costs, and logistical activities plus a continuation of import tariffs. We worked closely with our supply and logistic partners to minimize price increases. ASUS greatly appreciates your continued business and support as we navigate through this time of unprecedented market change. *additional models may see an increase as we moved further into Q1.

ASUS store has listed the following components at their respectable prices:
  • ROG-STRIX-RTX3090-O24G-WHITE: $2,109.99
  • ROG-STRIX-RTX3090-O24G-GAMING: $ 1,979.99
  • RTX3090-24G-EK: $2,014.99
  • TUF-RTX3090-O24G-GAMING: $1,839.99
  • ROG-STRIX-RTX3080-O10G-WHITE: $1,049.99
  • ROG-STRIX-RTX3080-O10G-GAMING: $ 929.99
  • RTX3080-10G-EK: $999.99
  • TUF-RTX3080-O10G-GAMING: $859.99
  • ROG-STRIX-RTX3070-O8G-WHITE: $779.99
  • ROG-STRIX-RTX3070-O8G-GAMING: $699.99
  • RTX3070-8G-EK: $729.99
  • TUF-RTX3070-O8G-GAMING: $649.99
  • KO-RTX3070-O8G-GAMING: $639.99
  • DUAL-RTX3070-O8G: $599.99
  • ROG-STRIX-RTX3060TI-O8G-GAMING: $599.99
  • TUF-RTX3060TI-O8G-GAMING: $ 529.99
  • KO-RTX3060TI-O8G-GAMING: $519.99
  • DUAL-RTX3060TI-O8G: $ 499.99
Right now, a question remains will other AIBs start doing the same, or this is just an isolated case.

Because things aren't expensive enough as it is...
I guess upgrades are off the table for quite some time.

Some of those prices are absolutely insane. To think there are GPU models sold with prices 50% higher than MSRP....

Damn.... Are we all going to end up as scalpers? Do we rush to buy stuff to resell them in 6 months? This is ridiculous.

Scalpers, bots, miners, retailers and now the companies themselves.

How to fix this? Don't buy Asus products.

Asus wants to change market, haha, dream on.

Asus makes good products as far as I know, but these prices are ridicuolus.

You do realize that after ASUS everyone else will follow? Right? ASUS is making the move because it is the bigger brand. Other brands where waiting for ASUS, so they can follow.

I could suggest them saving on design and less artificially segment motherboards basing on board layout and cutting crucial features like m2 count etc

Like 3-4 normal boards are enough...

But hey... we can just increase the price and suckers will still buy it.

I'm sure this is just the reflection of their wishes for the future - today's prices are "rock bottom", and with new cryptomining craze every manufacturer is now hoping for the prices will only skyrocket.

And we will wish for a $700 RTX 3070 and $1000 RTX 3080...

Upps they did it again. I read about this years ago. Asus is getting expensive, but their products arent going to be better (quality). At least they made a better support in EU for their pricy products.

Let's remember that companies without customers are = 0.

If starting from this moment nobody would buy asus products. What would they do? Of course lower the prices so that they wont go du duu bancrupt. And they are already asking from us premium price for their gpu's and motherboards.

Hilarious, they're selling a 3070 at 3080 Nvidia MSRP.

Not that this matters really, MSRP never existed in the real world for many of these things and you'll likely find these for even more that they claim they cost in actual stores.

That is if you find any in the first place, this is inconsequential, it's pretty clear by now that most have gone straight to mining farms.

Yep, that is sad. At least I'm glad that I'm not buying asus products for a very long time. And doubt that I will. I would want to see charts after next 3 months will asus achieved more income or just losing.

Asus just made official what is already a fact in the rest of the world: Nvidia’s MSRP were a joke.

Not much to comment on the topic... whatever TPU says, people will still buy Le AsUs!!!11 in large quantities. It's how it has always been in the industry: from a $400 GPU flagship to a $450 8/16 CPU (up from $300).

Yeah. I still got a 1080 Ti on a 4790k running at 1440p and apart from ray tracing, I can't say I feel like I'm missing out on much. Especially if those prices are the new norm, screw that.

It's just a matter of other AIBs making an official statement of increased MSRP or being quiet, prices will increase nevertheless. I think the prices before this were unrealistic, but this is too much now. I think they'll lose more trying to keep the profit margins from 2019/2020. They're increasing the prices as if people have more financial power now to buy overpriced products.

Lmao. If this is the new normal and other manufacturers follow suit, I'll just go back to consoles for my gaming. Seeing comparison vids, I see that 500$ XSX runs Black Ops Cold War with RT on at 4K way better than my rig would even if I stuck a 3060ti inside, which as of this moment costs 600+ alone, and I doubt that I'll ever see it anywhere close to 400$.
