There was a thread of someone seeking help with their G-Sync setup acting worse after a GPU upgrade. The person was ultimately told if they didn't like the advice or are questioning it than they need to "gtfo". Not cool.. what ultimately fixed their problem was an older driver.
The incorrect and flat out bad advice about proper G-Sync was
#1 - "Turn off G-Sync or VRR, you don't need it since you get over 100fps. Run at maximum supported refresh rate of the monitor and lock the fps for comfort" (to what? For comfort?) Result was nasty tearing constantly.
#2 - Fast Sync (user wasn't getting that high of fps for this to be viable, bad advice again) User made a statement about how it was working before but was told to try the above settings and the advisors patience runs out quickly.. seriously.. testing your patience?...
#3 - User was told they were dumb and the advice had already been given and to "gtfo" then mocked.
Some incorrect information about VRR and v sync was also posted
"If you have both V-sync and G-sync and a frame limit below the refresh rate of your monitor when the game runs below the limit G-sync becomes active, when it's reaching the frame limit it's disengaged and V-sync becomes active and you'll get input lag, since your game probably always runs above 140 FPS it's always running as if V-sync is on."
This is all wrong, in this situation G-Sync would constantly be active as well as V-Sync. Neither of them are disengaging and they are actually working together. The monitor is fluctuating with the game and V-Sync is fluctuating with the monitor, its perfectly fine and tear free.
Eventually the thread was locked for calling out the advisor on false information and a bad attitude. The bad attitude then mocked again about how the user created their own problems and good luck fixing it. The user ultimately fixed it themselves with a driver roll back.
Please, when giving forum advice get off your high horse and stop acting like a smartass, you don't know EVERYTHING and you just look like a silly little prick when giving bad advice and false information then telling them to gtfo. Have a little patience and humility please.
