Hi, I'm new and Italian, I'm asking for help because I couldn't enable the SLI configuration in my computer
MB: Asus M2N-SLI
CPU: AMD Athlon X4 640 3 Ghz
HHD: 1tb
Ram: 8gb
Video Card: MSI 2x NVIDIA GeForce GT 730 Fanless 2GB
s.o. Windows 10 pro 64bit
the graphics cards support the Multi-GPU mode and a long time ago I was able to use one on windows 7 with a GT 620 but it was more scarce and in the end because the fan was noisy I had removed it now I wanted to try to use two identical GPUs because I was happy with this, and I couldn't spend that much for a better fanless.
I tried DifferentSLIauto 1.7 but on reboot I can't find the sli functionality and I disabled antivirus during installation but I notice that windows security blocks changes on reboot.
With the latest drivers 461.92 , same thing, it doesn't even install the patch, and the ability to enable sli mode is not seen in the Nvidia control panel.
Nvidia says they're not officially supported, and doesn't want to enable the feature in the driver and officially recognize that many video cards can work.
What's up?
can you help me?
or create a patch to enable sli to any nvidia driver?
(Do you also know if Direct3D version 12 can be installed?)
thank you

Your motherboard supports SLI, but the cards do not, hence why the option is not in NVidia Control Panel.

Even if it would be possible it wouldn't run many games at decent fps...

look i'm playing starwars battlefront 2 in Fullhd and graphics settings in ultra mode, (and scaling resolution) in a sufficiently fluid way with a single video card in overclock without the slightest risk and overheating if I play at high graphics and not ultra is very fluid . I understand but would it be possible to force the use and test them?
giving the possibility to activate the SLI mode from the nvidia control panel? years ago with windows 7 did try without problems from the nvidia control panel and it worked with a gt620.

Anche se fosse possibile, non eseguirebbe molti giochi a fps decenti ...

Solitario, spazzatrice, mahjong e flipper farebbero però...
this is flipper? ;)

Even if it would be possible it wouldn't run many games at decent fps...

Solitair, mine sweeper, mahjong and pinball would do though...
pity that I can not upload the attached 62mb video of play otherwise I would show you the fluidity.:(

You're not going to get SLI properly out of those cards. You can play Battlefront 2 (original, not remake) fine but you're wasting your time. If you say you're playing the newer Battlefront 2 with those cards I'll call you a troll.

Also, new drivers disable SLI anyway.

What??troll? this is the screenshot of my play first is in high graphics setting and second is ultra mode setting 1980x1080 resolution scaling at 85%.
sync screen is limited at 30fps with one video card geforce gt 730 fanless 2gb ram.
can you see? i can play the game :wtf:
my request is with original MSI Drivers, can i activate with a one forcing mode the options of SLI mode?
DifferentSLIAuto create from Ember on Techpowerup and i ask for help can he create a patch to unlock in drivers the SLI mode for Multi-GPU equal cards in SLI motherboard?
Where is Ember?
Thanks

That is not playable.

Honestly that is not up to you. I played through WoW Draenor on a GT520 and considered 25fps to be playable. It's about expectations and what you're used to.

I agree the game is fun. All I'm saying is, it's a decently demanding game and 1080p Ultra is not achieveable with a playable framerate on a GT 730. That's absurd.
Here is a video with someone playing with a GT 730 on Low settings at 60% resolution scaling and they barely scrape by 30 FPS, which is playable. But Ultra Settings and 85%? The GT 730 is not capable of that. It's literally impossible.
Honestly that is not up to you. I played through WoW Draenor on a GT520 and considered 25fps to be playable. It's about expectations and what you're used to.
While there is some truth to that (in terms of expectations); WoW isn't exactly a shooter and 25 FPS is a whole lot better than 17. So your comparison isn't exactly valid IMO.
Personally, I hate it if my FPS games drop below 100 FPS, meanwhile I'm happy to see 30FPS in Runescape. But again, very different genres, very different expectations and requirements.

If you're so dead set on "SLI", follow what this guy did:

Start at 1:32.

And he, I, and many others warned you. Do not expect good results. Then again, if you call 17 fps playable, maybe you'll be over the moon...

IMO the whole project is more than pointless.

a) They won't support SLI officially
b) Two slow cards won't still do miracles
c) Nvidia has killed SLI already, many newer games won't even support multi-GPU

I'll wait. Not every day you get to see people perform literal miracles.
BTW; the guy in the video has his i7 pegged at like 20% max. The GT 730 is the bottleneck, as you can see by the constant 99% usage. So the CPU isn't relevant. Even if it was; the 8700 is a relatively modern high-end gaming Intel CPU and is very capable. I don't think you understand that "i7 CORE" isn't a single product. Core i7 is Intel's high-end desktop CPU line of products, of which there's more than a decade of progress.
Your Athlon II X4 640 is very far behind the 8700 BTW. The 8700 has three times as many threads and is much faster, and has a much higher IPC. It's 4 years newer...

Didn't you notice he isn't even using same GPU chip you are asking about? :D

And none of it matters anywhere near as much as whether game developers actually bothered with implementing SLI support (not that I can blame them if they didn't :p). In case you missed that one too, SLI is officially dead

Regardless, any questions about details of his testing are better asked to him directly. With provided YT link you have the means to do so if you want to know the answers.

this guy use an i7 CORE?? ahah i have more performance.
its possibile with overclock gt 730 and my case:cool: i show you, wait please i reinstall thelast driver and show all with one gt 730.:)
Every generation of i7 has been stronger than any FX stock to stock. You're delusional.

You're not going to get SLI. Again, the drivers don't allow it. Again, your cards don't support it. Cool that you like playing a game like a cracked out powerpoint but your goal is backwards and if you put this much effort into getting a card that was made for games, this thread wouldn't exist.

Either get off your high horse and actually listen to the people you asked for help from. (The forum you posted to) or keep wasting time and effort on cards that were only made for display output, failing for a feature that doesn't exist.

You don't win points for diplomacy but you did say exactly what we all were thinking, Toothless :p

IMO the whole project is more than pointless.

a) They won't support SLI officially
b) Two slow cards won't still do miracles
c) Nvidia has killed SLI already, many newer games won't even support multi-GPU
sorry for the delay in replying but i am having trouble inserting the osd from msi afterburner or again from xvga. I am not saying that the i7 is slower than my Athlon x4, I meant that in the video you can see that with an i7 and the gt 730 the game has bugs in the 3d visualization of the shadows which never happens to me even in overclock 40%.
do you think that an SLI configuration of two identical cards (that support Multi-GPU) like this cannot work miracles? it all depends on the data band of the motherboard, and I think that if I can test them it could have unexpected results, indeed I think that if I also used an SSD harddisk the situation would change radically.
