In the year of their 35th anniversary, Antec Inc., a leading provider of high-performance computer components and accessories for the gaming, PC upgrade and Do-It-Yourself market, presents the latest mid tower of their Antec Performance Series: the Antec P82 Silent. The case is now commercially available from 82,99€ (suggested retail price including VAT).

The Antec Performance P82 Silent Mid-Tower computer case is the evolution of P8, keeping clean lines and the interior around performance. With the new appearance in minimalism, the chassis is equipped with a white LED power-on light, ample diagonal stripes ventilation on the front panel, fan speed control button (High / Stop / Low) and 2x 120 mm fan in the front as well as 1x 120 mm in the rear, the P82 Silent is ready to help build a powerful system.

The mid-tower measures 454 mm x 215 mm x 480 mm (DxWxH) and is compatible with ATX, micro-ATX and Mini-ITX motherboards and supports up to 380 mm VGA cards. The P82 Silent boasts two convertible tool-less 2.5" / 3.5" HDD drive cages, two 2.5" SSD mounting space as well as seven expansion slots.

In terms of cooling, the P82 Silent offers space for 3x 120 mm or 3x 140 mm case fans in the front, 3x 120 mm or 2x 140 mm at the top and 1x 120 mm or 140 mm fan in the rear. The P82 Silent also includes two 120 mm fans in the front and one 120 mm fan in the rear. For extra water-cooling, the P82 Flow allows to install a 360 mm radiator in the front and a 140 mm radiator in the rear.

Yet another case without a USB-C 3.2 Gen2 (wow, I hate the USB-IF for their naming schemes) front port. I'd love something that could take advantage of more USB ports, but at least give me this in a new product for 2021!

And, since there are no front 5.25" slots, you can't add them either.

Are we not amused? Cases from 10 years ago can be brought up
to date by simple additions... but not these "modern" cases with
base features found on cases ... 10 years ago... and NO expansion...

Not even those crappy side-vents that do nothing at least?

What's the point of these silent cases now. With a good airflow case and properly tuned fan profiles you can have low noise and low temperatures. These silent cases run about 10ºC hotter and aren't much quieter at all.

My Pure Base 500DX has no issues keeping my components cool with three 140mm Silent Wings 3 running at 900 RPM. Never going past 63C on both CPU and GPU. And it's very very quiet. Fans don't need to spin past 50% in my Argus Monitor config.

Pretty much. The P180 deserves all the praise it got back then, and I still have fond memories of my own, but that was a time of screaming 80mm PSU fans and RAIDed 10000rpm+ spinning rust making your entire case chatter and hum. You almost have to put effort to make a truly loud case these days.

And seriously, no USB-C? I know it's an extra cost, but you'd think their marketing department would insist on it.
