ASUS Announces ROG Strix XG43UQ Xbox Edition Monitor

ASUS today released the ROG Strix XG43UQ Xbox Edition, a large 43-inch monitor that's designed for competitive gameplay in the living room. The monitor comes with a native resolution of 4K Ultra HD (3840 x 2160 pixels), and is capable of 144 Hz refresh-rate, and has DisplayHDR 1000. ASUS worked with Microsoft to optimize the monitor for the Xbox Series X/S consoles, and packed the monitor with an "Xbox Mode," which optimizes it for Xbox gameplay. Other features that add to its gaming prowess include Extreme Low Motion Blur (ELMB) Sync, AMD FreeSync Premium Pro, and 1 ms response time (MPRT). The VA panel features a matte anti-glare surface. Display inputs include DisplayPort 1.4, and two HDMI 2.1.

Update Jun 25th: ASUS listed the monitor for USD $1,399, with October 2021 availability.

It's OLED, I'd rather not. Sure, other panels my not hold a candle in terms of image quality but reality issue of OLED panels always have them bringing up the rear for me. Degradation over time, and burn-in are a infinitely more noticeable than blacks not being inky or colors slightly not a vibrant.

I have no idea why Monitors continue to be so expensive while using an old technology, while you can get a OLED.

When manufacturers like LG remove the 'not for professional use' warranty disclaimer that is essentially aimed at burn in, I'll contemplate using a OLED monitor.f

Yes, the difference is huge when they're side by side, but on their own using something else isn't making you think "Gee, I wish this was an OLED" and no it still happens but not as bad as when it first arrived but not fixed to the point where someone has to go out of their way to make it happen, if care isn't taken forgetting to turn of the monitor before heading out work, or falling asleep at the desk is enough.

then go buy a "nice" tv the diffeance in screens now it the biggest in history its ever or will be been im currently on a 250 nits secondary monitor and a 2016 yes 2k 144 hrz monitor its sadly 350 nits but that was amazing for the time i want a 32-37 4k ideally for my updrade for pixel density but they are kinda rare.

because monitors are still in the teens and 20s with bad specs 4k 144 with amazing actual specs is good... my parents are on a 19inch idk 250 nits prb 70 dci ish monitor as pervious hospital workers....

You do realize that you are showing me, for example, the price of an RX 6900XT and you try to justify that price by showing me the price tag of an RTX 3080 TI, right?

So, are you buying any of those monitors you showed to me, or are you just hyping them? There are many people who hype ultra expensive hardware that they would never buy. Just asking.

This isn't 2010, so 43" isn't big enough for a living room any more, especially not at that price which will get you an fantastic 65" 120Hz gaming display with VRR or something smaller and a decent sound system to go with it.
