EA DICE on Tuesday named NVIDIA as the official partner for Battlefield 2042 on the PC platform. To gamers, this means that Battlefield 2042 will feature support for NVIDIA DLSS and NVIDIA Reflex. DLSS integration will allow gamers to increase performance with minimal loss to image quality, while NVIDIA Reflex integration will be key to the game's online multiplayer component, as it works to cut down input latency. There is no word on whether Battlefield 2042 will feature RTX real-time raytracing, but given that Battlefield V was the pioneering title for RTX, some form of raytracing for Battlefield 2042 cannot be ruled out.

Among the other companies named as partners by EA DICE are Xbox Series X/S, as the "official console partner." Logitech has been named the official gaming peripherals partner, which means we'll see plenty of Battlefield 2042 co-branded gear from Logitech G. Western Digital, specifically its WD_Black brand, is the storage partner, with co-branded SSDs and external storage devices on the anvil, both for PC and Xbox Series X/S.

Putting famous player stunt (Rendezook) on their PR seems to do really well instead of putting women on the front lines in WW2  .

It's a win win for EA, ok Nvidia we will put whatever crap you want in this game, you have like 90% of PC GPU market share so making some additional money sounds good, yeah we will cripple it for AMD but only on PC, on consoles we have to make it good cause we make serious money there.
This sounds about right, expect to see benchmarks on this game on all the tech websites where 6900xt equals a rtx 3060 or something like that, everybody knows the drill now.

Sad to say, I don't care at all who the official partners are, or whether there's DLSS (likely) or FSR (unlikely) as there's no SP Campaign mode, and I'm basically an SP player. So, sad to say this'd be the first time BF gets a hard pass from me...:(

same... I am probably one of the few people on the planet that actually enjoys CoD and Battlefield SP campaigns. but eh that's life. I gave up on multi many years ago. too many subtle hackers that never get caught. not worth my time. sometimes I play against bots, that's more fun imo lol

Seems unlikely. Including features from both NVIDIA and AMD is very rare, especially with an "official partnership". But it would be nice, always good to have a choice.

Ray-tracing does not seem necessary in an MP-only game. I doubt anyone would choose that over framerate, and the game will probably have super high requirements anyway.

DirectStorage should by out by then, though, so it would be nice to see it implemented in the game, could be useful.

You see how well Battlefield V runs on Radeon, i doubt DICE would cripple it, otherwise they will be called out. This official partnership seems more like marketing.

Well, Cyberpunk 2077 is Geforce title, yet it has FidelityFX CAS, so who knows.

Is this, DLSS is better than native talking point from Nvidia's marketing department or am imagining things?

Yeah you can almost smell the boardroom with suits here, every time EA makes a statement like, well anything surrounding their games.

Fools and money shall again be parted for something that'll last a year at best. We'll get shitloads of DLSS and RT marketing but underneath Nvidia is still having to add the stuff everywhere manually.

Its like 2019 all over again, well maybe apart from the framerates dipping below 30 this time.

Is this, DLSS is better than native talking point from Nvidia's marketing department or am imagining things?

I think we can conclude DLSS is indeed better, but its also yet another way to be stuck with a single company and its per-game support to make the magic happen. History repeats, and it never ended well. The bigger question is do you really need it, or is it only needed because of games running retarded RT workloads that barely amount to a difference.

Death Stranding too so I don't think Nvidia cares very much.
Even if they did care, the shitstorm will be massive if word comes out Nvidia blocks AMD out of adding a feature.

Not sure about anyone else, but whenever I see that Nvidia have a partnership with a game, I immediately go, well this game is going to run like shit isn't it.

Can't count the amount of TWIMTBP titles that run like ass, have frame pacing issues, or other rubbish.

Come on dude it won't be that bad, frostbite engines run great on Radeon GPU's anyways, I'm sure both sides will be fine.

Algalore “festival, tons, plenty” lol most of those cheaters come from EA play subs through gamepass. They stay for so long playing without getting banned that they reach over rank 100

I did not realize this....and I was actually looking forward to picking this one up. That's too bad, because I really like the near future timelines where you have mostly ultra modern weapons, vehicles, etc but mixed with future concepts/tech. (as opposed to a full on far future/sci-fi time line). I think I would have enjoyed this one more than all of the historic BF games.
same... I am probably one of the few people on the planet that actually enjoys CoD and Battlefield SP campaigns.

Since BF 2042 is a no-go for me, I'm gonna play Doom Eternal again, actually didn't complete the Campaign (got to about mid way I guess), but not that RT's been enabled with Adrenalin 21.6.2, I tested it at 3840x1080, Nightmare presets, RT enabled and it ran silky smooth at about 120fps to >200fps. I've unfamiliar with the KB mapping, so I guess I'll restart to better enjoy the game.

Wait ? Nvidia said DLSS makes image better than native ? i can't understand how ? unless the textures used in game already come a bit bigger in size and blurry, maybe less contrast and less saturation, just enough so when the "magic" sauce comes everything looks right, so basically a scam, that's why it needs "support", otherwise what the fu... can DLSS do with perfectly optimized assets ? this is just stupid, we will soon have keyboards and mice with AI, they will light up when your turn your computer on, sensing you.
