@eidairaman1 - Trixx software only shows the details about my GPU has no options for tuning. Is there a reason you suggested those over the Radeon software?
You are correct. The only GPU tuning function that TRIXX can control is basic resolution scaling.

eidairaman1's suggestion to use TRIXX is irrelevant to the OP's situation.

Kiddo you definitely prove your ignorance and arrogance by trolling my replies. Sapphire Trixx is relevent due to the fact the tool is for Sapphire cards.

Your comments are irrelevent and not needed, bye bye

Now for whatever reason my temps are crazy. I've undervolted down to 1070mV and had to move my clock back to default of 1366mhz. Even with these settings Im hitting 80c which I only hit when I was at 1200mV and 1450mhz before. Any idea what happend?

I dont recall if you replaced thermal paste/pads, or your current room temperatures. What case do you have and fans?

Your case is 1 part of the problem. Due to lack of airflow, open the side and blow fan on it.

Get good thermal paste for the gpu die, perhaps thermal pads that are the same thickness, high quality stuff.

Is Noctua NT-H2 good enough? I got some of that.

91 % isopropyl alcohol for cleaning old TIM?

Id use Kryonaut over Conductonaut, Gelid GC.

Yours is fine, Id get replaceement thermal pads for the ram and vrm...

Perhaps washer mod too

@eidairaman1, I replaced thermal paste yesterday and now my GPU is 10c less while under load. Wasn't able to pick up any thermal pads yet and don't no what a washer mod is so haven't don't that yet. Thanks for your help.

Keep in mind that any increasing in Mhz of memory or core clock would generate MUCH more heat then you think.
The video card producer tested them at a safe temperature.
So after a whole batch test they did on video cards they decided to clock them at xxx memory and yyy the core.
If you start boost the clock and memory for sure you will generate much more heat then the card can manage.
So the card will do the next thing available to protect itself : lower the clock (this is an automated process )
So actually you enter in protection mode with the card. (at least this is what i know)
this isnt completely true.

because of how manufacturing actually works, not all chips are the same. The manufacturer goes with the most stable stable speeds that apply to most of the chips they buy.
this means max utilization of all the chips produced.

the only way to know is to overclock and find out for oneself if its worth it or not.

personally i had been lucky in the AMD phenom days and were able to unlock the 2 extra cores on the x2 555 chips for all the ones i bought.

If you do on YouTube and look up the Radeon washer mod what you're doing is adding washers to the tension plate for the heatsink which increases clamping pressure

You could try srb polaris bios editing software. You can tighten your vram timings for performance increase

An update :

I ended up buying and applying 0.5mm fujipoly thermal pads to my memory and thermal grizzley kryonaut to the core. I also added 2 new 120mm Noctua fans to my case. 1 intake and 1 exhaust.

After alot of testing via the Heaven benchmark and playing COD Modern Warefare for a couple days I've settled on 1440mhz core @ 1110mV core voltage.

These settings give me the best performance.

Temps are not an issue anymore.

My temps even when maxing out the Radeon Softwares core voltage to 1200mV never reaches above 65c under 100% load for hours.

I tried going above 1440mhz on the core clock but I immediately lost 3-4 FPS when I did that. Also tried going down to 1430 and had the same effect. When adjusting the core voltage from 1110 down to 1100 I lost FPS and when I increased it to 1120 I lost FPS. So, I feel like I've found to perfect setting for my card.

Just wanted to come back and say thanks for all the help. Appreciate it. Hopefully this can help others that have similar issues I was having.

Yeah only higher volts may get you further, i believe afterburner/trixx allows you to go higher.

When I add anymore volts I get a performance dip. FPS drops, benchmark score drops.

Even when I leave the core clock at 1440mhz and only add 10 more mV theres an immediate drop in FPS and benchmark scores.

Right now I'm at 1110mV which leaves me with 90mV more headroom within the Radeon software. When I attempt to add anymore I dont get a much of a temp increase but I do get a performance decrease.

I tried even maxing the volts out within software at 1200mV and moving the core up to 1450,1460 and 1470.

None of those settings caused a crash or showed any visible issues within the Heaven Benchmark and at 1470mhz and 1200mV the heat only got up to 65c but the FPS and benchmark numbers dropped by alot the higher I took it.

Idk why that would happen especially since temps are good now. Thats whats happening though.

BTW, Trixx software doesnt allow you to apply any overclock. Its more of a way of adjusted resoulution and stuff.

Sounds like a bios mod may be needed or you've reached the chips threshold or the cards component threshold.

1440 out of a Non SE/LE card is pretty good.

Bios Mod hard to do? Any resource/link for learning do that?

Would you reccommend it in my situation?

If a bios mod is done incorrectly it will brick the card. If volts are too High it may smoke a component on the board (look at the RTX 3000 cards getting burned up recently).

You can use Polaris Bios Editor or Red Bios Editor (IgorsLab) to mod 1 but always have a backup plan.

Thats sounds a little risky.

I was thinking since I still had alot of temp overhead I could try to use up some of that to squeeze some more performance out but may just past since Im npt experienced with bios editing.

It is risky. Research is Key. I do not have a bios editing capability currently though.

@siryoink care to help this guy?

There are youtube vids relating to this

Hello
Keep in mind that the BIOS flashing procedure is not too hard to be done.
On the other hand, the BIOS editing it is :)
So, as @eidairaman1 said before, please be so kind and 1st save your original BIOS in a file at a safe place in case everything goes wrong.
After that you can play with BIOS as long as you like(for your RX580 i mean).
If a BIOS modded brick your card you will reflash it to stock BIOS (cause you have it saved)
And so on...
