Basically a dog should bee down with 1 round, but i get why they don't. One thing i did notice is the fights are tougher, maybe i have the game set too hard i'll manage, it's kinda fun like this.

How long you got on the game @weekendgeek ? You seem to have lots of currency, i have feck all really.

I finished FC3, I get that this does look like 3. I think this is more like 5 with the map size and stuff though. I am enjoying it though, bet there is a lot of hours in this. I have 72 hours on FC3 and finished it, so i am hoping there is more to this

Amazon prime gaming had two free 'loot' packages for FC6 so that was 6000 pesos and an outfit. Not sure where the 300 FC credits came from. The 500 dollars or whatever they are came from completing challenges I think.

I might have to have a look at challenges. The enemies on the main island are tough, i keep dying lol.

I think I have played all the Far Cry games. Though I would never replay 2 or 3 probably. 3 was good except the UI drove me nuts. 4 was better. Loved FC:BD, but didn't finish Primal. I'm really liking the gameplay in 5, except for the really long cut scenes, I may start hitting ESC to skip, they don't seem to add anything for me. I was perusing FC posts on reddit, seems like many consider 5 to be a bit more fun than 6. I won't get to 6 for a while though ...

I did enjoy 5 a lot, i think it's better than 4, which is pretty good. But yeah the cut scenes in 5, especially where you keep getting captured

They don't make games like they used to. It ain't Far Cry if you aren't becoming deaf from beefy gun sounds, being jumpscared by muta-monkeys, ain't turning into mutant yourself and ain't chasing some crazy ass science bloke.

I heard a comment saying that this feels uncannily like Farcry 3, like it basically is, with a different plot, characters and a 'coat of paint'

How true is that to you peeps playing it atm? I have the Farcry itch, but I might just fire up FC3 again at this rate.

I mean, what else you could expect from overrecycled game. Not only engine itself is recycled, plot has been since 4 (recycled 3) and now location is semi-recycled. There's so much recycling that Greta Thunberg would call it the greenest game of the year (GGOTY).

When I was 5 years old I was scared to death of muta-monkeys and didn't load game for a while. Later levels got tougher and tougher.

I'd pay good money if they remaster the original FC with updated graphics, and perhaps tweak the sound design while they were at it. I replayed the original many times, especially with the weapons and ammo cheats....still undecided as to whether to get this.

I do think this is worth a buy, specially if you have 100 points on uplay and can get it for £40 with the 20% discount.

This time I wouldn't want a remaster. Let's be honest, og Far Cry was fun for its gameplay and today Ubi has no idea how to make gameplay as good as they did back then. New AI, graphics, even bigger maps would be nice, but they should never ever touch the sound of og Far Cry. It was amazing and it still sounds better than pretty much any modern game (on that note, probably even better than UT99 or UT2004, in terms of gun sounds). It also has EAX support if that matters to you (for XP installs or older, because later Win versions got rid of spatial sound support). Frankly, this is one of those rare games, which I could confidently say that it's best enjoyed in its original form. If you want to play it, buy it or pirate it from GOG.

I'm really surprised how much fun I'm having with FC6. Decided to go back to the first island and clear it out. Then I stole a patrol boat and made my way to another island to continue the main story.

So am i, start a mission get distracted, then get distracted while distracted. imo it is a pretty good game. Sure it's far cry esque, but it's far cry ffs, if it wasn't would it be far cry.

HDR messed up the screen shot a bit - but the game looks amazing.

About 20% through the game so far. Couple things:

1. The aim assist is strong with this game, even with it off the enemies faces are made of magnets or something. I'm getting consistent headshots with PPM at 30-50M with iron sights (i'm not that good at videogames/FPS)

2. Dani is a freaking TANK, who also runs like Usain Bolt, and regens healthpacks - prior far cry games u start with only 2 health bars - if you got pinned by 2 normal grunts, that was it dead in 2 hits. In this game you don't die in combat, it's always something weird like a rando explosion or faceplanting into a telephone pole in the wingsuit etc. This game you can just roll into a room full of ppl and start unloading then walk out while you're getting shot and putting a cigar out on yourself to 'heal'. Pretty crazy

3. Game is really fun -- the combat the sound track and the whole package is just really good. Playing only with the PPM, no silencer, explosives, and Juan's nail gun for groups of animals - aim assist off and it actually feels pretty balanced - still a bit easy on PC, but not too bad.

4. Things that make it more fun:
- Capturing the weather station first thing to get helicopters and take out the AA guns, then flying / wingsuiting everywhere. This map is way too big to schlep or drive to places.

How does MP work, through uplay? i don't have anyone else on uplay who has it to test it out.

It only works through Ubisoft connect/uplay -- it works well and is very fun. Also there are MP events in game if you're connected to uplay - get some moneda.

I take my statement about Far Cry 6 and MSI afterburner with overlay. It does work. I just simply had to much running at the same time and the game dit not like that. Now with less overlay, i works,

Well after uninstalling the HD texture pack, I was able to play for 45 minutes without a crash. So maybe that will solve my issue. Playing co-op is fun and easy. IMO it's the only way to play these games.

That's because Ubisoft didn't develop the original Far Cry. It was Crytek(developer of the original 2007 Crysis).

@Tigger my impressions:

1. What's with the red smoke??
2. The back-mounted cluster bomb is my favorite weapon. It's called the uranium gun or something? I don't remember. Also, ghetto weapons is a nice touch. In FC3 you could just buy army-grade weapons for cheap. This is much more Far Cry-esque to me.
3. Guapo!
4. Awesome graphics for visuals, meh for cutscenes. It felt as if they were barely improved over the FC3 days and that game is 8 years old now.
5. I don't really get (or like) the choice to make Dani Rojas gender-neutral(as in, you can choose). It's obvious that it's intended to be a female character, and that's fine. Is it just done to bolster the "customizability" trait of this game?

Isn't the red smoke poison gas of some sort? i'm sure they are using it to spray the tobacco plants.

Worth it imo, map is huge, looads to do, and it's pretty fun.

If you buy it, PM me for a add on uplay, i need someone to MP with.

My uplay is tigger_305 if anyone with the game fancies some MP
