I do highly doubt I mounted 4 different waterblocks poorly, some of which were mounted and then new paste applied and remounted with no improvement.

voltage has never gone higher then 1.36
Lock it down

Too much mounting pressure or not enough paste?

What? No make sure all screws are tightened all the way. I can’t really relate to the cpu other than if I give my 3770K 1.35v it gives me 4700MHz and some serious heat.. that’s on ancient 22nm.. maybe you can do something with your clocks and voltage?

also during intels test I noticed something else that is way out of the norm. CPU was drawing 224 watts, It is not suppose to do that. It is way outside of what it should be doing.

Pushing some chips hard in overclocks can do that.

Simple question my i9-9900KS has been a hot chip since I got it. AIO failed to keep it cool, previous loop failed. Current loop has an External 360mm xspc thick radiator, a duel pump tank, and an ek quantum X cryo cooler. This all seems to be keeping everything in check but yesterday I ran prime 95 (AVX disabled) and cpu still hit 115C Vcore was 1.360. I do not know what to do. Pumps are working as I have been able to get the cooler down to -0.6C and at writing CPU is at a 56% load ( doing random X mining) and temps at 64C for cpu and 26.6 for cold side of cryo cooler. I am wondering could there be an issue with the cpu itself at this point.
Have you checked PL1 and PL2 values?

No. PL is power limit. They adjust wattage envelope for turbo boost. PL1 is sustained boost envelope, PL2 is burst envelope. PL2 time is defined with Tau (time allowed in burst boost, measured in seconds). Both Pls are measured in watts. Explains why your chip reached over 200 watts like you mentioned in this thread. Here is in depth video:

I may be able to help, but you should learn basics first.

Oh I do understand just tired, what with new furniture coming, and rearranging the living room, was hoping I may be able to avoid going back to bios, to put it into perspective though last time I did any tuning was haswell. 4770k at 4.6 ghz max temp 75C. That cpu was a beast and just laughed at 4790ks

SO some help would be nice

My 9900k was way overvolted at stock, try reducing the voltage.

It was 1.37v once XMP was enabled which is a ridiculous voltage, now running at 1.25v.

Heh, that is kind of Intel's thing.

Anyways, moving forward I suggest you detail out your loop and take some more pics. Btw, your paste spread looked fine.

If yours is set to Intel suggested PL 1 and PL2 it shouldn't be raging inferno. Is your CPU set to those values?

hi m8,

I'm just about to u/g my system with a newly purchased i9-9900K, delided + liquid metal + copper IHS and Gigabyte Z390 Gaming X mobo.

My system if fully water cooled = mobo, cpu, gpu.

I'll reply back with temps once it's finished and we'll see how it compares to your setup.

regards

This is my new items - will hopefully be doing the transplant this weekend.

Hopefully this will reduce the temp issues when overclocked - allowing for a more stable setup.
