Intel's Attempts at Acquiring SiFive Fail to Deliver, Company Now Seeks IPO

Butt of a let down by the looks of it.

Yeah too bad for him that ship has sailed past the event horizon, Intel's arrogance is the reason why they're behind AMD & now Apple in terms of perf besides perf/W :ohwell:

You say that like you think SiFive needs help. They do not. What they need is to work smart, forge ahead and make hardware offerings that are competitive. What they've shown so far is very compelling.

Help they don't need, a quickly profitable product for anyone acquiring them whilst their 'moonshots' gain momentum however they somewhat do.

If anything SiFive should work with AMD, Hitachi, IBM to stop monopolization of RISC architecture

I feel this is a good thing, both for SiFive and consumers. With Nvidia's attempt to acquire ARM, I think it's been a wake up call for some companies to not put all their eggs in one basket. So we have seen some traction for RISC V SOCs from big companies. Ultimately, I feel the company will grow, and should be worth more than what Intel offers them for now. "Joining" Intel is more like getting removed by Intel in my opinion. Intel may likely pick and choose what they want and shut them down since they are also a competition to them.
