that is just some few example that nvidia RTX ampere has issue with it..... especially with LCD monitor 144hz and using DP cable..... is that true ??

Not that I know of. Flickering is usually caused by faulty cables or trying to use G-Sync with non-certified monitors (Nvidia is more strict about VRR than AMD).

hmm, i am doubt that bugs its only coming from fault cables and trying use G-sync compatible monitor, because on nvidia official forum, many nvidia rtx ampere user has say, that problem is coming after updating their new nvidia driver vga.....

I'm running mine via DP with a g-sync compatible display. Granted it's FHD 144 Hz but still - no issues.

EVGA cards—how us the stock TIM, anyone compared to see if it makes sense to swap the preapplied paste right away to a known well-performing one? Using the stock cooler. I’ve got an EVGA 3060 XC that I guess I’ll keep, wondering if I should upgrade the TIM or no point in bothering.

On my FTW 3080 ti the stock tim seems excellent with only about a 5c varience from the edge vs hot spot temperature. 65-70c edge vs 70-75c hotspot. Memory temps are excellent as well.

Assuming you don't have a massive temp delta on any one of these 3 temperatures I wouldn't mess with it.

EVGA uses Shin Etsu TIM according to a rep. As long as they apply it right at the factory (they have messed up in the past), that is actually not a bad TIM and has good longevity.

My 3070 FTW3 has never really been very hot running but the thermal difference between edge and hotspot is also pretty low, generally never exceeding 5 C.

I mean that's totally legit too. At least with EVGA their warranty cover thermal paste replacement with no fuss... like it should be.

I suppose, to be safe, after putting the shims onto the RAM chips (w/some thermal paste in between) we should use silicon rubber caulk around the edges to hold them in place and prevent them from sliding off and possibly touching another part of the PCB/components and causing an electrical short?

You can order a custom shim from coolmygpu

othwise you can use 20x20x2mm copper shims too, i suppose to be safe you can put some masking tape on the pcb surrounding the VRAM.

You arent wrong, the concept of using them with a waterblock "forever" on my 3090 does appeal to me

It's just that price of that is a weeks rent, once we throw dollar conversions and shipping on top

On FTW3 style I use 1mm on VRM and 2mm on VRAM front and back. Went from mid 90s on VRAM while mining to low 80s high 70s with just thermal pads and aggressive fan.
Evga uses a puddy on the VRM to help with their unevenness but I've seen a lot of people use 1mm and be fine. Including myself.

For standard gddr6 cards I wouldn't bother unless the card is throttling or if the core is abnormally high. Fresh air and proper aggressive fans will do more for a card than new pads and paste if it's still not getting fresh air. I've seen cards hit the same high temps after a repad because they aren't getting good air.

Haven't really had much time for proper gaming sessions, but in Benchmarks its Fast!!! :rockout:

Under load it gets up to 74°C (80°C Hotspot) on the core, 84°C on the memory. I get 19183 Points in 3DMark Time Spy on stock settings, which i think is not bad. And the Card is not loud at all...
