Yeah, which also makes this part quite funny
it will be the highest performance PCIe Gen5 flagship SSD on the market when launched
as they can apparently predict the future and knows what all of their competitors are going to launch between now and then.

They should have used that skill to bet on horses or something /s

BTW, just me or do SSDs not really generate any hype anymore? Like, after jumping to nearly any NVMe SSD it just doesn't matter anymore.

nah PCIE5. High read / write speed is only to / from SLC cache. Transfer between SLC cache and memory cells reamin unchanged at 1-2 GB/s. SLC cache have different sizes, between dozens to hunderds of GB, depending on drive size

I wonder if this Gen5 drive is inserted into a Gen4 slot will it fully saturate Gen4? Well atleast sequentials.
Tho it would be intresting to see how randoms are affected too.
That would make an interesting review of those

Marketed for gamers?
How is this going to work, for now on the Intel side there is only one PCI-E slot that supports GEN5 and that's for the vid card. all others are GEN4.
This probably won't change for another launch Z790 so a yr or two.

I don't know on the AMD side if they will support more than one GEN5 device/slots next platform.

There are Z690 boards with Gen5 M.2 slot too.

Some boards split the x16 interface into dual x8 or even one x8, one x4 and one M.2.
