I'm really, really surprised that these really are nothing more than underclocked XTs. I genuinely expected them to be disabled in some way. If I can get my hands on a good xfire mobo, I think I'm gonna buy one of these, and flash it to an XT.

true, ya the guys at CPU mag overclocked a XT, and its true as what happened to the board, the damn thing is so unstable with Power draw its not funny. Lets just hope the X2950 XT and Pro are the Champions AMD is really looking for. To reiterate, when they overclocked the board the Unit seriously drew as much as 375 watts Loaded and 258 Watts Idle with it overclocked!, if you didnt notice the GF8800 Line dont require as much power and they outperform what the 2900 has to offer. ATI Previous X1950 Pro didnt require as much juice and was a great upgrade solution.

So it would not even appear that it's under volted to ensure that owners cannot hit XT speeds, I think however that if these really are B Grade XT chips that not everyone will get in excess of XT speeds. It was very much like that TBH with the 7900GTO in relation to the GTX, I got one, an MSI that clocked well in excess of the GTX but many didnt, some had undervolted memory or lower speed memory and it was all a bit hit and miss for some buyers.

Dont know the answer to that specifically apart from saying that potentially, its the same as the 2900XT as in same power connections, obviously underclocked it would have a little less draw but if you overclock it then we are talking similar, I think AMD's reccomendation for the 2900XT is a minimum of 550W for a single card and 700W minimum for Xfire.

Nope.....more juice required (to be safe) I have heard of people running a 2900XT off 500W with really high amperage and efficiency but probably Wile E would be better placed to answer that as he is a 2900XT owner.

Same here, will try and get a few for an investment if they really are going to be a limited edition, but as I said before, if they are B Grade chips dont expect them all to clock beyond XT stock speeds, mefinks it may be the luck of the draw, of course the pre sales/engineering examples sent to reviewers by ATi will overclock beyond the XT.......I wonder why?

Let's put it this way, I had a 32A 12v 550w psu before this, and now I have the 50A 12v 620w Corsair psu.

But also note, I like to overclock, and I push extra voltage into almost everything.

WTF no native HDMI support?

I thought all ATI 2000 series cards were coming out with native HDMI support am I wrong on this? :confused:

Even if im wrong it still sucks that theres no HDMI native support, DVI to HDMI cables don't really help out much either unless your monitor only has an HDMI port which is basically impossible to get a monitor with just that

I don't see why not. The Pro shouldn't consume as much power (well, until you OC it, anyway. lol) How many amps on the 12v?
