8800gts lag

Lately I seem to be getting some lag on a few games such as WOW and worms armageddon but everything else seems to work fine. I noticed this after my last PSU kinda burnt out all the sudden it wouldent work and when I kept messin with it it kinda made a whining nose and I could smell a burn smell comming out the back so I turned its powa switch off and proceeded to buy a replacment psu. Unfortunatly I had to get a cheap psu as i was broke atm so i got a 500w Apevia Turbolink atx 2.03 version. I was thinking that this lag may have something to do with the psu not giving enough lovin to my 8800gts since its kinda like a glitch stop and then a few sec later it will like snap back to normal. my volts in the bios are as follows the 3.3v = 3.29 the 5v = 4.78 and the 12v= 11.45. . Any help would be great guys :)

You are right, get a different psu. It may also be a driver issue. What drivers are you using? Also, please fill out your system specs and be sure to tick the box so we can see them.

Maybe just a slowdown thing . My 8800`s done that a couple of times.

Im pretty sure my system specs are shown. I was using the lates nvidia drivers and I just downloaded the new beta drivers but Im getting the same thing. I dont think its just a 8800gts thing because it never used to happen till I got this new psu.

What do you mean by lag?
Pausing for a second then carrying on when loading textures?

Well sometimes playing wow it will sometimes get jerky and with stuttering sound for a few sec's, but mostly its like a pause for a few sec's, and then the screen will snap back to the present situation where it will work fine agin. This happens usually a few times during each gaming session but always atleast once.

defo the psu. doesnt seem like anything else could be the problem.
