Ubisoft has released a Heroes of Might & Magic V: Tribes of the East demo for those of you interested in trying the upcoming strategy game expansion pack. The 900MB demo features a key episode in the Heroes V storyline where you will follow Gotai, a young warlord of the Orc tribes, as he leads his armies in an invasion of the Griffin Empire. Control the new Orc faction by building cities, recruiting troops, and fighting battles with brand new creatures and discover the unstoppable power of the Orcs on the battlefield. Developed by Nival Interactive, the retail version of the stand-alone expansion ships October 16.

I don't recommend this game to anyone, it only causes mass addiction. It gets crazy fun and time consuming if you actually spend the time to get into it.

the game looks a ton better during actual gameplay
I used to play the older heroes of might and magic games and damn it were they addicting, I got V but it was a bit too heavy for the mobility x1600 in my MBP so I put it on the shelf and keep forgetting to try it out on my new build

I love the music in previous games. I believe the new one also has great music in it.

I wish....

I would love to try it. I just crashed firefox after downloading for 3.5 hrs... with 7.5 hrs left. All of the links need you to subscribe to download at any ecent speed. I wish techpowerup would mirror the game demos they feel worthy of putting on their front page. I just sent the guy I heard is in charge of downloads a pm on the forums. I hope they put it up. keep your eye out.

Used to be addicted to HoMM3, HoMM5 is a nice game, however it plays way too slow, loading times are way too high. Unless this is improved I'm not trying it.

Yes, right, you obviously never played any HoMM game. With loading I meant the computer turns, ie your RAID0, as much as you like to brag about it, won't do you any good at all.

oh, and yes I have, though this one seriously for about 15 minutes
as for the "loading" time, I don't remember for sure on V but there should be options to speed it up

Options to speed it up? Like what? Wasting the AI? I doubt there are any, unless patches and such improved it I have a pretty bad feeling.
