As AMD is preparing to launch a highly-anticipated refresh of the Radeon RX 6000 series, codenamed RX 6x50 XT series. Alongside AMD, add-in board partners (AIBs) will have their say as well, and today we get to take a look at the alleged specifications of Sapphire's highest-end upcoming products. According to Chiphell member RaulMee, who claims to possess the specification of the newest Sapphire models, we are expected to see a bit higher total board power (TGP) with the arrival of this refresh. First and foremost, the Sapphire RX 6950XT TOXIC is the fastest air-cooled model from Sapphire, with a boost clock of up to 2565 MHz (255 MHz over AMD's reference 2310 MHz model), carrying a TGP of 364 Watts in OC BIOS. Regular TGP for this model is 332 Watts with a boost speed of up to 2532 MHz. Please note that this includes the power output of GPU and memory.

Next up, we have Sapphire's RX 6950XT NITRO+ SKUs. The non-SE card is a minor improvement over the AMD Radeon RX 6950XT reference GPU and offers a Silent BIOS option. The RX 6950XT NITRO+ Special Edition can go up to 325 Watts and 2435 MHz with OC BIOS applied. Silent BIOS is also an option, and it lowers the TGP to 303 Watts and 2368 MHz. The alleged specification chart also carries Sapphires' RX 6750XT & 6650XT NITRO+ GPUs, of which you can check the clock speeds and TGPs below.

that's not that great.
my normal 6900XT Nitro+ (non SE) already runs at around 2700MHz under load (MPT 375W Powerlimit)

Looks to be the same stock boost clocks (2565) I see with my 6900 XTXH. Interestingly it does it with a 303w TDP. Officially it's rated at 2425 so possibly the 6950 XT Toxic will see in the 2650+ range.

I haven't seen many of the XTXH for sale lately, so maybe AMD has been stockpiling the better bins.

This is just an overclocked version of the 6900 or there is some other hardware difference...?

These cards have always been able to push these clocks with minor tweaking.

It should also have faster mem speed.

Well, the other 6x50 cards are supposed to be 6nm instead of 7nm of the original release, so this might be this case with 6950 as well.

Your NITRO+ is rated for only 2285, the opportunistic boost takes you further. So if your card rated at 2285 can reach 2700, what will a card rated at 2565 reach? The raw numbers mean nothing anymore on the spec sheet.

So if your card rated at 2285 can reach 2700, what will a card rated at 2565 reach?
since it's the exact same die and a normal refresh.
maybe 2850 with a high end PCB and binning?
all of them can clock really high when you give them enough power and when we get the same 3000MHz Limit i don't think we get more than a 5-10% performance difference as the absolute best case.

They are the same chips, it's just the yeild are better than expected.

Same chips, same card, only the memory go from 16 gbps to 18 gbps.

Fun fact, My last Radeon 6950 was bought for £200 and used well under 200W.

This new RX version sounds rubbish, it's going to be 6-8x the cost and 2x the power draw!

Sapphire's GPUs are fantastic. I run Nitro+ SE 6800XT since it launched and it has been a great experience. It can OC to ~2500 MHz without issues, but I tried that just for fun. In normal circumstances it runs 4K/120 10-bit images fine. Highly recommended if price is good.

Article title says 6950X when all card references in the article mention 6950XT?

And the Sapphire 6900 XT Toxic EE boosts to 2730Mhz with the XTXH chip. Don't understand how this is anything but a response to nvidia.

It might have faster memory and be built on 6nm. I bought a 6500XT and it is not 7nm but 6nm.

6nm is just a rebrand or refined 7nm. So I won't expect it to perform much better. So whatever benefits 6nm brings in terms of higher clockspeed vs power requirement, AMD is already utilizing it by bumping up the clockspeed of all the refreshed products. The only tangible difference will be the higher memory speed since the older RX 6900/ 6800 are being bottlenecked by the memory bandwidth as gaming resolution goes up.

In my experience with both the RX 6800 XT and the 6600XT, the main thing I find quite uncomfortable with AMD's card is the very high delta temperature between the skin vs junction temp when using air cooling. The RX 6600 XT (Powercolor Hellhound) in particular where I've observed a delta of over 20 degrees celcius. So junction temp is in the 90s when under heavy load. Which translates to very high fan speed and noise.

6nm is an efficiency node that's based on N7P. N7P is still the performance node which is why you won't see high-end models made of N6P any time soon, and since the 6500/6400 series are primarily mobile GPUs, that is why they use N6

Unless the memory is greater than 2150, not worth. My XTXH is currently running 2850 GPU/2150 MEM.

Air units like Asrock’s XTXH hit the same without hybrid cooling solution, so it’s not exotic.

After reading the Specs it looks like it is on faster memory but still 7 NM you are probably right.
