It's a software bug most likely -- you won't start randomly stuttering after 1 month. What else changed?

in june 2022, install some new win 10 update, also upgrade nvidia driver.....

*Unless you use windows search a lot.

1. defrag = yess for all HDD, with win 10 internal defrag and with defraggler.....
2. disk clean up = yes, just for drive C only......
3. disable indexing = i have not doing it, yet........
4. setting up paging file for all drive as automatically from win 10 system, from 6gb only has changed into 32gb for now......

The thing is, that information doesnt actually tell us anything

What used that CPU? What used the GPU?
Was it higher usage, or did the clock speeds lower?
Was it all the cores on the CPU or just one?

You need to stop using task manager. It's not helping. Use HWinfo64 on its sensors page and get some useful information.

This isn't yet another thread about someone using wallpaper engine on shuffle, with windows adjusting the theme to match colours again is it?

oh, yes... i am using that win 10 wallpaper engine on shuffle 1 minute, and then 10 mnt, , after that, 30 mnt, the last is 1 hour suffle.....
also, using win 10 automatically theme with match colours....

what is wrong with that win 10 features ??

Oh wow. OK.

Try changing the Windows color theme manually once, and see how long it takes, also notice how the system is unresponsive as you do.

Then add 1+1

New rule of thumb for you:
The best gaming system is one that runs only games.
Everything happening on the background will increase latency, as mentioned before, things add up.

Since you have money to buy 3080

(I dont have that), u should have money for ssd even cheap nvme for os.
Or get ssd drive big enaugh to play just 1 or 2 games from it.

oh, ok.... i will test my PC for a few days from now on, with suffle wallpaper time limit = OFF, and windows match colours theme = OFF.......

its strange, that my old PC can still suffer from this little features of win 10....

if i have money right now, i much prefer to buy a new gpu or LCd monitor 43 inch with 2160p 60hz than buying 1-2 new SSD, because it will make me headache, when copy paste or reinstalled all of my programs and pc games, etc.......from my 3 old HDD into some new SSD.....

... it causes stutter.

Did it not occur to you that the lag spikes match up with the wallpaper changes?

You can even see it in 2D desktop use, as the wallpaper changes the theme updates and explorer basically has to reset and it's not smooth

after some couple days, playing some pc games, the stutter has gone, after i have disable all that change automatically wallpaper for 1 mnt-15-30-60 mnt, and disable match colors theme....

also, when iam still using nvidia v516.40 whql, i dont know why, but it make this error....

i choose to uninstllad the old driver, changed into nvidia v516.94...... the problem is gone.....so far so good......

well, today, HDD 2TB 7200rpm is cheaper than SSD 2TB sata3..... but, a couple years ago, it not as cheap as today.....

I've had BSOD's with the latest Nvidia driver as well, that's a seperate issue that wont get resolved until they release a new driver
