In all reality, p35 is a better overclocker. However the q6600 has a 9x multipler....so to get like 3.6 ghz you only have to push the fsb to 400 mhz which should be in the range of the mobo I posted. Really in a quad core you're probably going to end up hitting the oc wall of the cpu rather than the mobo first. But if you want to go for crazy overclocking, p35 IS better. But just remember...2 ultra's basically guarantees gaming at highest settings....period.

so which mobo should i get?

Well big question is do you want to go with sli and another 8800 ultra or put the money in other places like a new monitor?

From the reviews Ive read the x38 is more of a ddr3 board.. for it to really shine it needs ddr3.. the p35 is the best atm price performance-wise... I'll say the ddr2 versions are on par.. and x35 boards love quad-core cpus.. Im doing a total overhaul of my rig too lol. Im getting the x35 premium and some cool shit.. I'm going platinum in the case gallery :D

Probably 680i with sli over a x38 that overclocks slightly better.

x38.. pfft lol it only becomes better than a x35 with ddr3 ram and do you reallly want ddr3 ram how it is now?

but yeah, I'll say your better off with the 680i & sli.. one thing the x38 has is good x-fire capabilities.

Edit: but I think the best como atm would be a x35 with a gtx on water (forgot you were going big into the overclocking/watercooling).. than just upgrade/sell your card when you need more power... that wont be for about a year+ when dx11 comes out :)

I gave you my opinion the x35 love quad cores, runs cool (especially the p5k premium) than you can get a gtx.. buy a waterblock for it.. and pump it up to or past ultra speeds. :rockout:

Thats all you need for now.. unless your gaming @ & above 1080p resolution, I dont see you needing more graphics power.

Edit: I can max any game so far with my cards stock mild overclock @ my resolution, which is almost/near equivalent pixel-wise too your 24" monitor.

I have about $1500 and i want to build a computer. I have the case, PSU (1000w) and video card (8800GTX ultra). So those 1500 are just for mobo, cpu, ram and hd. i also have a water cooling system. So my question is what should i buy.... thanks

what case do you have? what water cooling system do you have? what psu you do have? and exactly which graphics card do you have? are you looking to spend every penny of the $1500?
