Why? They found a few dusty wafers in TSMC's storage and decided to give them a polish, cut and sale.

You know, what with warehouses full of stock of Ampere and the complete stagnation of perf/$, why not? This looks like a great deal waiting to happen...

the fully enabled 2080 Ti that never was. this is not just some dusty old wafer that they fell upon. I mean usualy they are gimped for a reason. Even if it's makes it to the market the price won't make any sense, 15 Tflops is nothing 12GB but too slow now. 30% of 4080 is a 4050.

it is rare but it is a real SKU, it has its own device ID and was validated, dubbed 2080 Ti Super, unofficial name and also not the real name either.

it is unknown if it is an engineering sample or not, but nvidia is known to throw out gpus without them being announced

probably some binning rejected titans with 12GB which never made it on the market.
there is a GTX 2080 as well.

There are RTX 20 series cards with "GeForce GTX" on them, but those aren't "GTX" 20 series cards. They're not feature locked to lack RTX, they've just got the GTX branding on them because they're exclusively engineering and vendor samples, and nVidia was trying to keep the new branding reveal a secret.

There's a strong chance that this card's database entry is legit but not a retail SKU. That is, it might be an enterprise product for a handful of corporate customers.

As someone else notes, this is a Titan with half the VRAM.

This is not unknown territory for NVIDIA. The RTX 3080 Ti is essentially an RTX 3090 with half the VRAM (12GB versus 24GB).
