Noctua Shows New Coolers and Fans at Computex 2024

Lol, i just got the liquid freezer 3 360 for like 65 bucks, while they still sell them cheap. In fact, i even got 2. They are that good and that cheap. What the hek is Noctua smoking. Even the old D15 is still 105 bucks in my country. 150 for their new one is totally insane. It starts to look like Asus. Asus also overprices stuff. Wanna get an RTX 4080 super? Pay 200-300 bucks more than everyone else, cus you know.. it has the Asus name on it. Asus 4070ti super cost as much as an MSI/Palit 4080.

Shame, i like Noctua but i also happen to value money. There are too many good options out there now, Noctua is not only not relevant... but it's also.. oh whatever. RIP Noctua. Even if it has better performance than a 40 bucks air cooler(you know the one, the best and cheapest air cooler on the market), id still take that 40 bucks cooler over a 150 bucks one. Once you go past 80 euro, it's AIO territory, and these usually have better performance/noise than anything air cooled, especially 360 ones. Air coolers can only match 240 AND MAYBE 280. My Freezer 3 has 0 sound, keeps my CPU under 70 (vs the 94 of D15) and it's gorgeous. RGB and black (or all white) vs the ugly Noctua color. If i save up on RGB, the AIO is even cheaper. I can finally see my ram, replace my top SSD freely and well.. not kill my motherboard with a 50 kilo block of metal. If it fails? I'll just put the second freezer that i bought. 130 bucks for 2 AIO's vs 1 Noctua D15 2. Guess what's a better deal? Did i say RIP Noctua already?

I hope the new D15 is truly something special. Considering how long it’s been in development and how much it’s likely to cost, it would be a shame (though funny) if it still ends up losing to or even just trade blows with a 40 bucks Thermalright cooler.
Watch Gamers Nexus talk with Noctua engineer at the show. It will be $150US and comes with three levels of convexity and washers. Said to be about 2-3C cooler than current model.

I totally agree with you here. As someone that went also from a NH-D15 to an Arctic LF3 360 (changed the fans to Noctua's that I already had) on a 13900K, the difference was night & day. I will be interested to see how the new NH-D15 performs but will be seriously thinking 3 or 4 times before considering swapping the LF3 now.

Noctua under the gun to make something.. this is the best that they could come up with? Life is harder when you cannot mimic what the competition is doing anymore.

Yes I think they copied Scythe and Thermalright to get where they are :D

Their prices are fantastical.

"liquid freezer 3" , worst amd mount i'v ever seen. That concave plate is utter crap, idk who came up with such a bullshit idea. Mounted it yesterday, next time it will go straight in the electronic waste.

People put too much into own feelings and stereotypes, the look over the function. This is probably due to excess of money, and lack of maturity.
Black is boring and overrated. For someone, who have witnessed the HW of the early 2000, where there were only black noisy garbage, or fancy colorful/transparent garbage with blue and green leds, the brown and beige looks like godsend.
And dunno where people take poop colours. To call these colors sh*t is disgrace, or people have vision problems. Might take a visit to a ophthalmologist. And this speaks volumes about the personal dietary choices. Anybody who have ever seen coffee with milk and chocolate, and some fresh backery, would surely distinguish this against sh*t.

As for the price... I completely agree with the sane notions. This is already the gouging territory, and the users that secured Noctua's position and funding, now are taken hostages. Maybe the Noctua's heatpipe technology is top notch, and future proof, but I think this is time to support the biggest Noctua rivals, like, ThermalRight, Scythe, etc. Actually, once upon a time, TR were even beating Noctua with both performance and price, and as reliable (or even better).
And for $150 the heatsink better be something akin to TrueCopper, or no buy. No amount of engineering and R&D, cannot justify the fan price of $40+. They just need to sell more units. But at this pace, they will rather just milk the loyal customers.

Eventually, the only thing that truly matters in the heatsink, is the heat-pipe technology. Yes, the HS and fan combination can be designed for the most efficient result. But the heat-pipe performance longevity is key. There are/were the cooler makers, that used to make bad heatpipe design, that ends up into cappilar abilities to fall miserably after years of use. So if the heatsink itself, is top-notch, and it doesn't decrease the performance, and spoil the capillar material over time, then the fan swap is no biggie at all. This is why it would be amazing, for the reviewers to revisit the tested coolers after some time of use. This is what is concerns me the most with latest TR products, as there's not much reviews across the web. They were very reliable a decade ago, but how this relevant with current products, is yet to be known. This is what the coolermakers like TR and others must do along with huge [roduct range- spread the word. People need more information, and honest reviews.
Pretty weak..

Clown show :nutkick:
The clown show is what CPU makers do with their IHS. Especially intel, whose IHS are so thin and useless, that they bend during "normal" CPU load. That's why intel only users, would better have a HBC version. Whereas AMD users, are fine with both Standard and LBC. At least AM5 IHS do not bend like the tin foil.
If you actually listen to their explanation you will realize why they opted for this.
Indeed. This is actually the best thing cooler makers could do, and should have done ages ago. The more choice is not a problem.
