790fx chipset

I was thinking about upgrading and getting a 790fx board, i was wondering if i can use my x16 gen 1.0 2900xt with it and I was also wondering if i can get a 3000series card later and run both in the same system as a xfire set up

Everything is good except I don't know if you can run a 2900 and a 3800 together? It may be best to sell the 2900 and go with 2 3800's.

yeah thats what i was thinking and just build something like the spiderplatform but yeah i mean id still like to know if u can combo the two, from what ive read about crossfrireX technology i think you can

I'm sure it would work, but probablly not as good as 2 3870's, but then again, you could probablly pick up another 2900 real cheap!

Abit at8 mobo (crossfire support)
Audigy x-fi sound card
i have a 6800gt pci i would put with it
2gigs of ddr 400

I would shoot for $300 on craigslist. $200-$250 will get it sold! As long as it's got a dvd burner and a Windows etc.. What kind of memory do you have? Please say Corsair XMS!!!

those are the only parts im selling out of my box, because those are the parts im replacing. the memory is patriot brand. Its not ment for overclocking but as far as stable solid performance memory it works fine.

im just going to am2+ mobo the cheapest x2 for like 65 bucks and 2gigs of xms... and wait till the 2.8+ ghz phenom comes out. I might return my 2900xt for a 3870 since its cheaper and see if i can get the difference towards credit on newegg

If you can return your 2900 deff. do it! You can't beat the Asus mobo btw

, The x2 5000 black ed. is an awesome processor and a steal for $130 bucks! That plus the mobo, plus a 3870 or two would be the envy of all the nieghbors!

very cheap indeed if u wait a couple of weeks.. with the 3870 out there they aint worth much..
