Global industrial computer hardware manufacturer OnLogic today announced the launch of its powerful, highly-scalable Helix 520 Series of industrial computers. Engineered for the evolved edge, the Helix 520 Series leverages the latest Intel Core Ultra processors to deliver exceptional performance, integrated edge AI capabilities, and industrial-grade reliability. The system is ideal for automation, machine learning, edge AI, computer vision, robotics, autonomous systems, and distributed applications that require powerful computing in challenging environments.
"The Helix 520 Series represents our commitment to providing cutting-edge computing solutions that empower innovation at the edge," said Hunter Golden, OnLogic Senior Product Manager. "With its powerful Intel Core Ultra processors, flexible connectivity options, and ruggedized design, the Helix 520 is built to handle the complex demands of today's, and tomorrow's, industrial applications, enabling our customers to connect faster, compute smarter, and scale without limits."
Scalable Integrated AI Capabilities for Optimal Long-term Value
The Helix 520 platform offers cost-effective scalability, allowing users to select the precise CPU and GPU performance needed for their applications, optimizing upfront investment and long-term value. This adaptable design helps to extend deployment lifespans and lower total cost of ownership.
An onboard Neural Processing Unit (NPU) powers this intelligent scalability for integrated edge AI capabilities, enhancing efficiency by enabling localized data processing and reducing latency. Select models offer further expansion options for enhanced AI and complex workloads through support for Hailo accelerators and NVIDIA GPUs in a standard PCIe form factor or Mobile PCI Express (MXM) for discrete GPU performance in harsher environmental conditions.
The Helix 520 Series provides tailored connectivity and flexible expansion to seamlessly integrate with both new and legacy industrial systems. Core connectivity includes multiple USB and Thunderbolt ports, and high-speed 2.5GbE LAN. Additional customizable I/O is available to add up to 8x Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) ports or 4x 10GbE LAN.
Built for Reliability in Challenging Environments
Models within the series cater to specific needs from enabling real-time defect detection in manufacturing, to powering autonomous mobile robots in logistics. Model-specific features include low-profile designs for space-constrained applications, hot-swap bays for maximum storage flexibility and uptime, and dual ModBay expansion for unparalleled I/O flexibility. Robust construction and industrial-grade components ensure consistent and dependable operation, minimizing downtime and maximizing productivity with a 0 to 50°C operating temperature range.
To ensure dependable connections in demanding environments, Helix 520 Series systems can be configured with cable retention on key ports. Systems also incorporate off-site management features, including Intel vPro for remote KVM (Keyboard, Video, and Mouse access) and firmware or BIOS updates.
