CD Projekt Red has officially announced that Cyberpunk 2077's next update, Update 2.3, will be delayed to an as-yet an undetermined date. In a post on X, the game studio revealed that the next major update to Cyberpunk 2077 was supposed to land as soon as June 26, but the developer says it will "need some more time to make sure we're happy with it." CDPR also clarified that the scope of the next update will be similar in scope to update 2.2, which launched in December 2024.

Cyberpunk 2077's Update 2.2 addressed a lot of issues in the game and introduced a host of new features, too, including extended vehicle customization, a new photo mode, and a substantial number of character customization options. The exact contents of Update 2.3 have not yet been disclosed, but the hint that the scope will be similar to Update 2.2 suggests that the next update, ostensibly the game's last major update, will likely feature similar quality-of-life changes, bug fixes, and minor in-game upgrades or cosmetics. Unfortunately, those who were hoping for a meatier update with more playable content or story may need to look elsewhere.

Cool, they'll sack support for Cyberpunk 2077 just before they'd add AMD's FSR4. How many shbitbucks has NVIDIA paid ProjektRED to shovel all their RTX bullshit into the game, but failed at properly implementing even FSR 3 ages ago, let alone FSR4 that has been around for months?

Yawn

In one year or so the game will finally be ready for me to try it for the first time.

Optiscaler seemed to work quite nicely to get FSR4 in. Not that we want to have to rely on such things, but it works.

final_final(3).exe I hope they keep releasing final update.

The game is 5 years old already. I don't think there's a person who hasn't finish it yet. A person that enjoy those kind of games I mean.

I have a huge backlog, which keeps me entertained for years. But I also enjoy these kind of games. Seems it was good idea to wait for all these updates to come out.

Wrong. I enjoy this type of game but I only buy CD Projekt games when they are feature- and content-complete and on sale. Cyberpunk remains unfinished. The discounts for the so called 'Ultimate Edition' have not been substantial enough yet. Thus, I have neither bought nor played the game yet but will do so once they announce a final patch and as soon as the UE goes on sale for €29 or less.

Will do the same with The Witcher 4. I was actually dumb enough to preorder the original 'The Witcher' and 'The Witcher 2' Collector's Editions back in the day only for them to rot on my shelf until CD Projekt was done with the Enhanced Editions which were a night & day difference when compared to the super-buggy and unfinished original releases.

But lesson learned. I got 'The Witcher 3' (GOTY/complete) once it was complete and on sale (btw, the Witcher 3 received 20+ patches with THOUSANDS of fixes/QoL/features/content additions BEFORE the NextGen edition). Same with Cyberpunk 2077. CD Projekt can keep their buggy and unfinished messes until development is really done which is usually several years after the actual "release" (lol). Their "release" versions are like an early beta at best.

In fact, it is BECAUSE I enjoy games of this type that I am willing to wait for the best possible version, i.e. the feature- and content-complete game. Why would I play the inferior shitty incomplete release versions? That doesn't make any sense to me. Gimme the real deal.
As an added bonus, depending on when CD Projekt will finally finish and discount the UE of Cyberpunk 2077, I will be able to enjoy Cyberpunk 2077 + PL on my current RTX 5090 or maybe even my future RTX 6090 in full RT/PT glory with decent fps.

i already finished it 3 times...i started with an 1070ti on release (game was so slow and so many bugs), then i got an 3070, and the last time i finished it with a 4080s with FG and path tracing...

If it's going to be just like 2.2 it isn't going to do shit for the game it'll mostly be bug fixes and QOL stuff that you won't even notice 90% of the stuff they showed in the 2018 trailer has yet to make it into the game NPC's are still as stupid as they were at initial launch

It's an AMD's fault. No one was forcing CDPR to give up on FSR but AMD. Notice how they implemented XeSS leagues better and more on time. Why? Because Intel made a contact, they provided instructions, they earned it. What have AMD done? Announced some stuff that's doomed to come out when it don't matter anymore? Gimme a break.

Also look how AMD cards perform in this title. Despite it being an nVidia tech demo it runs great on team red offerings (of course with RT enabled, it runs like shit on RDNA2/3). AMD sponsored titles are a greater mess.

Also yeah, patch 2.2 brought nothing I wanted so prolly 2.3 won't do that either. Actually wish they stopped doing that and focused all their attention on upcoming games. CP77 isn't fixable, you can only fix it by remaking from scratch which ain't happening.

i bought it for 30 for the ps5. i bought the ultimate DLC for 30. bought the PC version on GOG for 30, then the Ulitimate DLC for 30. (all canadian prices)
because of the steam deck, and steam, it remains expensive at 80 cad.

so you have not downloaded the “stolen” version ever?. have not played cp2077 ever?. if you can afford a 5090, you can afford cp2077. why do you not have cp2077?… the only game ever designed for the 5090, or requires a 5090 to play in all its glory…

CDPR isn't working with CP2077 anymore, they handed these final updates off to a third-party studio, Virtuos. All of CDPR's devs are working on the Witcher 4 and Project Orion (CP2077 sequel).

Take off your tinfoil hat. Maybe they're delaying the update to properly implement FSR 4?

I haven't. I've started playing it and I've not gone past tutorial because some genius at CDPR decided to HARDCODE hack button to some stupid key and I can't modify it to whatever I want. And since I exclusively play with arrow keys and have done so for 30+ years, it pisses me off that I can't bind keys wherever the F I want because game developer is stupid. So, yeah, call it petty, but I can't enjoy a game where I need to reach 20cm outside of zone where I have all the keys because everyone just assumes we all play with stupid WASD.

People will rage that Starfield didn't have DLSS for a week but then shrug when the worst FSR implementation isn't fixed. Personally I don't care as I don't use upscaling but the double standards are nakedly obvious.

Implying they delayed an update for FSR 4 is far more conspiratorial then implying CDProject red favors Nvidia.

CDProject Red have a history of being Nvidia sponsored and implementing Nvidia's latest features. Hairworks absolutely nuked performance in the witcher 3 on last gen Nvidia cards (at the time) and AMD cards for no good reason. Meanwhile tressFX just worked on both vendors.

CP2077 is an outlier in the sense that it's probably the worst FSR implementation. When studios a fraction of the size are able to implement FSR without needing engineering resources, it's pretty clear this is a simply a Cyberpunk issue.

You act as if these are bad things.

Having braindead AI is certainly bad yes and Cyberpunk has no shortage of that.

Perhaps instead of simulating horse muscles in the witcher 4 they should focus on actually making the AI good.

Left handed? I used arrow keys aswell, but got fed up always having to rebind keys, so started to use default wasd control layout, got used to it pretty quickly. You can try glovepie to rebind keys if you can't otherwise.

Sure but when a very popular game has too many buts on your hardware you should ideally do something about it so people interested in this game don't buy the competing stuff. My point is "nVidia sponsored title = bad FSR" is a flawed logic. It's an AMD's bad because they never pounded on CDPR's door with the question "where good FSR" (yes, sure, CDPR's bad too)

Well, making this 3rd party working on sequels rather than meaningless updates woulda been great.

To quote Id software, "you control the buttons you press." If an experimental tech demo feature doesn't work on your older GPU, just don't enable it?

Huh? There's no conspiracy. The post I was replying to was schizoposting about how they're going to drop support "just before they'd add AMD's FSR4," which is an extremely odd comment to make on an announcement that the final update is coming out later than planned. I just pointed out maybe part of the reason the update got delayed was to give a bit more time to implement FSR 4. Even if that's not why (and I was just speculating since there's no official reason given), it's certainly more conspiratorial to claim they're never going to add FSR 4. As another user pointed out, they implemented XeSS in a timely fashion, and the game runs excellent on AMD GPUs. Maybe AMD just isn't great to work with?

Oh, you just want something to whine about, I see. What, exactly, would a third-party studio in Singapore contribute to the core development of a Polish studio's games? It seems CDPR just can't win. You complain they're working on these updates instead of their next games. When you're proven to be just flat out wrong, you still complain that this other studio isn't working on those games as well.

Maybe you have a point, maybe every game studio in the world should devote all their time to working on CDPR's next games. That would be much, much better than "meaningless updates."

Still Cyberpunk in 2025 :D Man... I already moved on past update 1.21. The game's OK, but I honestly don't get why people linger with(in) it for so long. And that's coming from someone who took its sweet time playing this game, too. Wandered around the city aimlessly for a good while, too...

No, righty, but I hate how buttons are so crowded around WASD. I like how full size keyboard has just enough space between arrow keys and keys around them to make use more comfortable for my relatively big hands.

I also use relatively "unorthodox" controls as a result. RShift is Jump for me, RCtrl is Crouch and I control both with my left hand pinky. Reload is Numpad 0 controlle dby left thumb, sprint is Numpad 1, Numpad comma for weapon fire mode if there is one, Numpad 4 is usually grenade or if game allows it, I usually bind that to MouseWheelUp just because it naturally feels to throw the nade forward with wheel rotation upwards. It may sound funny, but it's much more natural for me than anything else. End above arrow keys is usually some sort of "power/ability" and if game has none I bind inventory there, otherwise inventory goes on Home. Del and PageDown above arrow keys is usually used for weapon back and forward. Because I hate using mouse wheel for that. It's imprecise when you need to swap fast, but for that I remember how many taps I need for something. Games in the 90's actually defaulted to arrow keys mostly and I've been gaming that way ever since.

And when you have everything clustered around arrow keys and dumb game developer decides to hardcode "Hack" to key "H" for some reason, you can imagine how stupid it is to reach out there, half a keyboard distance out of where I have the hand.

I know there are tools like GlovePIE or Autohotkey, I even wrote an autodetection script for Call of Duty Infinite Warfare that rebinds WASD to arrow keys because if you bind the arrow keys in the game, they were all screwed up and broken, with half a second delay that just randomly appeared and game just went insane if you used two keys to move diagonally.

Yeah unfortunately with most of these new games you have to be an octopus. Old days of simple gaming where you only needed arrow keys, control and spacebar is gone. I've tried getting used to a controller... It's so clunky and awkward, so that's never gonna work for me, i do use a controller only for specific genres.

I just can't play any games with controller. I bought PS2 years ago and tried playing Black and Killzone and using controller to aim is just so incredibly awkward. It was fine for Gran Turismo 4, Need for Speed Hot Pursuit 2 and all the Burnout games though, I did use controller on PC to play some NFS games, though I had digital one without analog sticks so it was closer to keyboard experience than it is with analog sticks.

Most games that are done properly are perfectly fine for arrow keys layout, some games do this dumb thing where Backspace or Delete can't be bind to anything because menus use it to delete bindings and the really bad games use hardcoded keys which are the worst.

Yup that's pretty much how I do it too

There is a mod on the Nexus that allows you to completely remap every key to whatever keys you want though
