Tomorrow at 10:00 CET, CD Projekt Red will release Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.3 across PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, bringing a renewed pulse to Night City. Players on compatible hardware can now activate AMD FSR 4 and FSR 3.1 frame generation, Intel XeSS 2 with frame generation, Intel HDR10+ Gaming, and, for the first time, Variable Refresh Rate on consoles. A native Apple Silicon build also debuts on the Mac App Store. Four new vehicles arrive through narrative side jobs: the Yaiba ARV-Q340 Semimaru, Rayfield Caliburn "Mordred," Yaiba ASM-R250 Muramasa, and Chevillon Legatus 450 Aquila. Once earned, each can be piloted hands-free with the new AutoDrive system or summoned as a self-driving Delamain cab after completing "Don't Lose Your Mind."

Rayfield's CrystalCoat technology now coats partner-brand cars and motorcycles, supported by twin-tone paint packages and a community cracked variant for budget builds. Photo Mode expands with twenty-seven additional NPC spawns, wardrobe swapping, new stickers, frames, and colour balance tools. Quality of life updates include inverted-mouse detection, replayable tutorials, quieter radio balance, and a host of quest, gameplay, and stability fixes. The complete list of changes is very long, and you can check it out here.

FSR 4 support is going to make a lot of RDNA 4 owners happy.

Seems a new picture quality comparison review shall be in order @W1zzard

This game is short but i will try with latest patch and play some Phantom Liberty, that's for sure on Xbox SX.

Even having FSR 3.1 is already a boon for those still on RDNA 3. It took far too long to leave FSR 2.x behind.

Not only that, but a driver version comparison that has better controls than the controls that were identified as lacking in the Hardware Unboxed driver version comparison would be very useful.

Further tests that could be very useful would be ray tracing mode and path tracing mode tests. The Hardware Unboxed video lacked those kinds of benchmarks. Hardware Unboxed stated that ComputerBase.de had those tests as justification for not running them, but that still left a big gap in the tested games. Due to the way that RDNA schedules ray tracing within its shader scheduling infrastructure instead of making function calls to dedicated self-contained ray tracing units with their own scheduling infrastructures unlike what Nvidia and Intel do, AMD driver changes probably have a greater impact on ray tracing performance than Nvidia or Intel driver changes.

Certainly makes me happy. Would be incredibly stupid if they stopped updating the game as it was hinted recently and just missing out FSR4 support. So yeah, I'm very happy they finally added FSR4. I hope FSR 3.1 implementation is good now to make non-RDNA4 users experience better.

Perfect, just in time for a new playthrough. FSR4 support is amazing and definitely needed.

I mean, have they not completed the game already?

Of course but have you not gone back for additional playthroughs?

Will FSR4 be good for on a steam deck?
No because the Deck doesn't have RDNA4 graphics, but FSR 3.x should already be plenty better.

I wonder if this means there will be a new driver release tomorrow.
PC-specific

  • Added support for AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution 4 for compatible AMD GPUs. IMPORTANT: The FSR 4 option will not be available in the in-game settings until the supporting AMD driver is installed. Please note that the driver will be released at a later date.

Have to admit being happy for the FSR and the latest XESS 2.0 support, even though I'm an nGreedia user, and the HDR 10+ support is great, but the rest of the patch is meh. CDPR spun some stories and did not control the rumour mill about the size and scope of this very minor patch that for some reason keeps focussing on everything but what the fans actually want. The fans wanted Save Game+, 3rd person view, bug fixes - yes mostly cosmetic now but still... and people desperately wanted some new quests and missions to play.

But CDPR have admitted to another patch coming later in the year, but now I won't get my hopes up for anything meaningful, even the host on the stream was saying the focus on photo-mode is maybe a bit too much and what more could possibly to be added to it that people actually need and would make use of!

The real-time chat was incredibly negative after the first 6 or 7 minutes, especially as it seemed to be focussed on things people didn't want, car colours, photo-mode etc, with a great deal (not all) of the criticism being justified IMHO.

All in all, a bit of a let down. 2 out of 5.

Doubt, personaly not interested in bug kingdom.
You have never played it.

A new nGreedia one for sure. AMD have never really been good at making their customers happy, so don't hold your breath.

You're being overly generous. 0.1 outta 5 and not 0 only because they actually did something useful (FSR4 for example).

Talk about beating a dead horse... dayum

Huh did I read this right? I thought this going to be A BIG patch think I read about a month ago or so? Another big letdown, I want content damnit not just two-tone color on bikes or photo mode which I NEVER USE.

On my computer - no. Not interested in watching how still Jackie knows how to no clip through walls, doors, bookshelfs, tables.

Have I played it somewhere else - yes. At first week when the game was released, oh dear lord, amazing experience :D for 1h.

Last time played it for 15min and when saw that Jackie can still do noclip quitted the game. It was few months ago. After the patch where they introduced another actor in ingame.

This ;).

It will be probably Edgerunners 2 related. a tie-in quest, 2 - 3 additional items to get and that's it.

If FSR 3.1 implementation is good, then it's a 100% perfect update for me (although I'd like more of new missions or more of the city content).
