The Viper Series, is Patriot Memory's newest line of memory, that utilizes aluminum-copper composite (ACC) heat spreaders for premium heat dissipation. Lab tests show that after placing the Viper memory under an intense load for 45 minutes, the memory chips themselves were 20% cooler as compared to Patriot's previous bladed heat spreaders. The timings are not the greatest but i'm sure in a year or so when i actually buy a new computer they will be a lot more acceptable.

Slowly but surely they are coming down. also, one of the biggest selling points on DDR3, aside from Bandwidth, is the lower voltage requirements. They say 1.5v is the standard as ddr2 uses 1.8v. Why, o why, do these modules use 1.9v? OR, have I some how confounded myself and the ddr3 is 1.8v while ddr2 is 2.0v?

No, DDR3 standard is 1.5, and DDR2 standard is 1.8, but the high performance kits are alway higher. Most high performance DDR2 kits are rated at 2.1-2.2V. That's .3-.4 above standard, just like these DDR3 kits.

As far as the timings, 8-8-8-24 isn't bad for 1875MHz.

Thanks Wile E I wasnt sure if I was fooling myself or what have you.

I guess my biggest complaint is, Id like to see these boys at stock voltage :)
