Hey Wile E, i've seen you discuss panel types before and was wondering, are you aware of any (wide) monitors between 19" - 22" for reasonable prices that use something better than a tn panel? i recently bought a samsung 931BW as it was rated as having the best picture quality in its class, but i think it's awful in comparison to my mitsubishi diamondpro crt, the colours are all washed out if i move more than a few inches from dead centre.
I think i remember reading (possibly in one of your posts) that apple displays are better, but they seem unreasonably expensive in Britain in comparison with US prices

I feel your pain. I hate my Tn panel. I'm completely spoiled by my iMac's 20" S-IPS panel.

The Ultrasharp Dells generally have the better panels as well.

Panels better than Tn-Film carry a premium tho.

One tell-tale sign of a quality panel is the higher viewing angles. Most have viewing angles above 170 for both horizontal and vertical. Some Tn-Film are able to achieve 170 tho. If you have any doubts, try looking the panel up at this site: http://www.tftcentral.co.uk/

Use the panel search function.

If you can't find it there, search out some reviews, and see if they tell the panel type.

As a tip, Double Sight, Acer, and Westinghouse usually have good deals on monitors with high quality panels.
