But ram is soo cheap, there is no excuse not to have 4GB like me.

I'm thinking . . . running an OS that doesn't support 4GB is a good excuse - just my opinion.

Screw Vista - I've worked with it, and don't inted to upgrade to it for a long while. And, although there are many out there stouting Linux - I have no intention to going open source as driver support for hardware is still touchy for the most part . . . and (not directed at anyone here, more to all those other posts on the i-net:) WIN XP IS NOT A DIFFICULT OS TO USE IF YOU TAKE THE TIME TO LEARN THE IN'S AND OUT'S!!!!

When I get around to buying a new CPU, though, I do intend to look into a 64b capable proc - but that still won't mean crap if the OS can't support the extra MEM.

anyhow, back on topic - I'm sure those specs listed were really meant to be the recommended specs, not minimal. I can't imagine Ass'sCreed require that 1337 a rig.

Wait a sec... 3GB system memory recommended and only a poxy 256MB graphics card? something tells me this game likes loading up textures into system memory and not graphics memory (which can operate much faster than system memory, both in obvious and not so obvious terms) overall looks like a poor console port to me.

i hope its not a port

everyone is talking ooutt there a** dont take it personal though...cause what i am about to say i could be wrong so i could be in the same boat as well.
anyways as i see it the thing says xp, vista (only) i would say that whatever is in the () is referring to vista... and if so i think the memory requirements of 3gigs is for vista and not xp.
some one correct me if i am wrong.

Benchmark Scores Fast. I don't need epeen.
minimal != recommended

3GB is recommended, 256MB VRAM is minimal/suggested.

I wouldnt say that is really true. Take for example Oblivion, at the time that required (realistically) a very topend card to run acceptably, but I got it running good on my 6800GT with a few simple mods, the best being a mod which converted the grass textures from 8 down to 4 polys. No noticable image quality loss, only a nice FPS gain. Same goes for Crysis, as unoptimised as that is, I can play it with all details set to high (apart from light beams or whatever it is.. thats medium) and get around 40FPS solid @ 1280*1024. So IMO, so far at least, those specs are stupidly high because the coding for the game is piss poor.

The point I'm making is if devs are too damn lazy to optimise the game engine properly, the least they can do is downsize textures to a level that doesnt adversly effect visual quality, but offers FPS gains.

Wow, those specs are pretty high, I should've bought a 512mb ATI HD3850, it seems and my CPU is a bit ''bottlenecked'' too. Nothing a little OC'ing couldn't do. Hopefully the makers would put some new content into the game, to compensate for the potentially high system specs, at least. :slap:

Actually looking at the spec it doesn't look too intensive. Like lets be frank who doesn't have atleast a 3800+ or better?

I don't and i play games quite often, I am still on a 3700+ single core.

I've thought I was doing a good thing standing by PC gaming but now totally pointless. they are porting games from consoles to Pc and they dont care any optimization.

Assassins Creed sold 3 million xbox and 2 million ps3 version.
I bet PC version would have 5 million warez copy. why would they care??

I hate how they judge everybody's GFX cards by the amount of ram on it. Making people think they have a good card because it has 256mb on it. I'd love to see this game on an x1300 with 256mb.

I don't totally agree with the pity part of your post.

look at my rig it isn't top of line, and i've been gaming on it for well over 2+ years.

The only changes I've made to prolong gaming on my machine has been Switching from AGP to PCI E and going from a X1950Pro to HD3870. Which will probably give me another year of solid gaming. When you build a system and plan it out properly it is very easy to extend the life of it. And that little upgrade cost me like $350 max. And I still haven't sold my old parts yet so cost to me will continue to drop.

But then again i'm an adult and not some kid so even if I had to drop a $500 videocard in there every 2 years that ain't a big deal. You will spends more money in gas for your car in 6 months. So YMMV.

They want as many people as possible to buy it. Therefore, the minimum specs are always ridiculous. To be fair, it probably will run on an x1300 with everything on low and 640*480 res.

I'll stand by my rig anyday. I might only be stouting an aged Pentium 4HT, but the whole setup is still capable of playing newer titles without too much strain.

Asides, I can reason more with the cost of PC games and hardware. Why dump $300-$500 every couple of years for a new console when I get more than my fair use out of a PC game. See . . . on a console, you can only play it the way it's meant to be played - PC games are more open to modifications which can keep one's interest months after successfully completing them - multiplayer is more fun on a PC, too (and typically more fast paced). Plus the price of our games slowly drops after release, and usually within 6-8 months, the price is half of what it was released for. Console games hold their $50+ tag much longer than that . . .

. . . before I get on a rant - I'll sum up what has been argued and proven time and time again: gaming on a PC is far superior to that of a console. Until a console literally resembles a PC (and look at how quickly they're starting to take that route), that statement will hold true.

i dnt exactly know if my pc will run creed on minimum or recommended so could some one please tell me:

dell
XPS M1530
intel core 2 duo CPU T7250 @ 2.00 ghz 2.00 ghz
2046 MB RAM
32-bit Operating system

will it run?:ohwell:

also 265 mb video card

8600 gt

It will definately run, but it will be on lower settings. Its not that you have a bad laptop, its just that this game is a real bitch for requirements.

It will definately run. Play the demo before splashing out on the actual game. Probably play at about medium settings with medium/low shaders at 1024X768, but it's way to early to tell.

just to give you an idea i had to run world in conflict in 1024x768 in medium detail to get a playable framerate mimimum specs are a bit higher for creed so you might have to have similar.
