Readers might want to take care when visiting PowerColor's website for the next couple of days as it looks like the site has been hacked by someone with the alias DaRKHuNTeR. From a quick look the only noticeable alteration is that the news story titles have been modified, which shouldn't be too dangerous. However, the more worrying thing is what else might have been changed. For example the hacker may have potentially added malicious downloads and links, so it's probably best to avoid PowerColor's site for a while.

Jimm you are a hell of a reporter - always knowing whats going on

Always wondered what posses ppl to do things like this DaRKHuNTeR ur days of freedom are numbered i hope.

Boredom would be my guess.

I wonder when powercolor will fix this?

Damn script kiddies -- why can't these people stick to cracking those that deserve it, like the CIA? :P

(Not that they'd have any luck, but I love pitting stupidity against paranoia any day.)

Nearly 3 hours later and its still not fixed xD

Daniel

im sure powercolor has a complete backup of there website all they have to do is go down for a little bit to put it back up...

Look at it now; he's even modified it further... why? I have no idea, but he did.

I think it's kinda funny. Stupid tho, especially the question of "Why Powercolor?"... bad RMA experience? I dunno. Try more difficult targets, and hope they didn't track you down sucka. haha.

I've always aspired to know How to do this... never to do it tho, because again arises the question of why, and how do you have that much time, and how much do you earn year (if anything)... lol. Oh well.

Well, I sent them an email hours ago so there's not really much of an excuse for it not being fixed :ohwell:

Damn skript kiddies. They dont actually do any work they let a program do it for them. Hence the very pointless "hacked by DaRKHuNTeR" everywhere. £50 says "DaRKHuNTeR" is like a 13yo thinking they are "cool"

even hacking's becoming automated? sheesh. Remember the days of the movie Sneakers? Please tell me someone here has seen that movie. Quite good.

Skript kiddies are nothing buy an annoyance. If I had my way I would shut every single skript kiddie on the planet in a single room and slowly decrease the oxygen levels in the room so they all die slowly - and hopefully without extreme fear :)

No offense -- I agree with you -- but you walked right into it. :P

Fortunately, you dont know me in person. Otherwise you would know I'm actually crazy enough to do that given the resources :)

hacking is actually quite entertaining, if youve done it or tried it, than you would understand why...

the challenge of it is what gets me.

probably a ATI hater thats why he hacked it

Still no change powercolor is slack.

Before I was an adult sometime during the late 80's early 90's I was a "hacker". I had no idea what I was doing, I just did it out of boredom and too see just how far I could go. The internet was awfully boring back then and nothing like it is today. The worst I ever did was send "things" to ip adresses of certain people I didn't like on some message boards. They deserved it, but who's to say really(Poor John and Marc's 486 machines).:ohwell: I eventually got into trouble (hand-slap) at school (cops were involved). This moron will get caught, it's just too easy to catch people nowdays. Remember kids, relax, sit back, and DON'T HACK!

Omg I just thought of something; What if powercolor did this on purpose, its not truly a hack, but they're making it look that way as to garner more traffic to their site (for any variety of reasons, marketing being #1). Eh, Eh, all my fellow conspiracy theorists out there?

Naw its real, it would be more extreme if they did it

Lol, I'm pretty much 50/50 on it now!
