It's fairly obvious that most IT work is outsourced to places like India, where minimum wage and benefits are either not required or are much lower than they would be in America. However, there are huge problems with outsourcing to India, that was either overlooked or not considered at the time of outsourcing. Be it the fault of an utter lack of medical benefits, or a sheer volume of required tasks, IT departments in India are beginning to contract diseases relating to typing too much and/or too fast. Over 75% of the workers in Indian city Bangalore have been diagnosed with "musculoskeletal symptoms related to work". The most crippling, RSI, is known for putting victims through searing pain when doing even the most mundane tasks. Fortunately, only 20% of the workers with diseases suffer chronically, and with a little time off, the remaining 55% can probably function like normal. Whether or not big Western companies are willing to be humane and give said workers the mentioned time off is a different story.

Our taxes on corporations are to high. If we cut them it would make us more competitive in the job market.

Yep. "Trickle-down economics" at it's finest. Mr. Reagan already proved it's legitimacy in the 80s, tho some would have you believe otherwise.

Call centre work is the utter shits but in India it can be a high paid job, a few years ago Norwich union (part of Aviva) closed all its call centre in the UK and was offering its UK staff to move to India and work there for less money, these companies don't give a frig unless it hurts them financially and suffice to say due to the poor quality of a few of the Indian call centres they have re opened them back in the Uk.

I agree with you. These companies are located in the USA. There product is sold in the USA. And you pay them in the USA with US dollars. Yet there customer service is in India. And you never are allowed to speak to anyone in the USA. I got so mad at them that I decide to send my payment to there location in India. They received the payment over there. The company contacted me and it was someone from in the USA. They were mad. But they receive the payment. I still have my service and told them if I had a problem and could not talk to someone in the USA. That I would start sending my payment to India. And I would subtract the extra cost of having to send it to India. They hate me right now. But have not refused me service.:rockout:

The American people need to stand up and stop putting up with this crap. If people started to do what I just did. The company would start changing things.

There's very less emphasis on ergonomics here. A lesson for us all on how important ergonomics is. Bangalore sucks now, everyone's going Hyderabad :D

Not just taxes but *cough* environmentalists. They're the ones setting standards that are too expensive for American industrialists to function in the US. Small-time/growing industrialists flee US for Asian markets because running things clean+paying taxes = expensive.

Benchmark Scores A million on everything....
People here at McDonalds make more, Flippin burgers and smokin crack all day, than the tech support workers from India. Sad.... And the people at McDonalds probably get better benifits, and more vacation days.
