CoolIT Systems announced its new NVIDIA VGA MTEC Coldplate. This newest addition to CoolIT's line of MTEC coolers is perfect for PC Enthusiasts who already have a custom liquid cooling system along with NVIDIA's 8800 GTX/Ultra series graphics cards. The MTEC Coldplate is available now from CoolIT Systems.com for $109.99.
PC Enthusiasts can take their cooling setup to the next level by replacing their traditional water blocks with the MTEC Coldplate
said Geoff Lyon, CEO of CoolIT Systems.
The NVIDIA 8800 series is an extreme graphics card that requires extreme cooling performance to reach its full potential. That's what the NVIDIA VGA MTEC Coldplate delivers.

And after seeing what their CPU coolers can (or can't) do, I wouldn't want to hook up a TEC onto that loop...

im sure the reviews will say some ok things about it, BUT, it looks awful! like half the cooler is missing! lol

but, I do like how the barbs are alligned along the surface of the card, will make it easier to plumb :)

actually their TEC coolers are pretty awesome. CoolIT Freeze one does some dynamite stuff. It may not be the prettiest, but hell, it will probably keep it uber cool :D

I dont think it will look so bad, its all going to be on the bottom for most ppl, I do see some were the MOBO is made so that the cards are fliped so you can see the coolers on top.

But for many ppl its going to be on the bottom out of site, and should do a good job of cooling.
But $100 ontop of what every your card already cost is kind of a waste to me, maybe $30-$50 is more inline with added preformance IMO.

Who cares what it looks like? I mean you aren't going to be staring at it daily because it's in your freaking pc case! If it works, then it works. No way I'm going to spend a $100 on something like that though. I would put the extra money into getting a better graphics card, lol !!!

Personally, I don't think a 36w TEC is really going to be able to keep a 8800Ultra cool much beyond what the stock cooler is capable of. Unless I am reading something wrong, this thing is underpowered.
