I'm just not so sure. It says AMD Athlon 64 comma Sempron. Nothing about Sempron 64. Or since it says "supports AMD64 Architecture" is that all it needs? I really need to catch up on my AMD CPUs.

actually your right there it only says sempron and not sempron 64 bit..sorry about that

Any board with A64 support, will support the Sempron 64. It may not call it a Sempron 64, but it will work. When I first booted my K8N with my Sempron 64 it reported it as a, and I quote, "Athlon FX-F4" :laugh:

Strange considering they never made a FX cpu for 754 :confused:

The comp still worked fine, just updated the Bios and it reported it correctly.

I was begining to figure it was something like that. The Sempron 64s seem like excellent budget CPUs. Do they oc well too?

Definitely. Sempron 64's are just venice cores on socket 754 with some L2 disabled. I run mine at 2.4 GHz 24/7 only 37 celsius under load on stock 1.4 vcore :)

Its begging for more, but my ram is holding me back right now because im running 300 htt with a 2/3 divider.

They are great OCers for litle money. Most run well on stock voltages, but some (like mine) need some extra juice to run well (max FSB on 1.5v was 260, max on 1.75 is 270, 1.8 275, 1.9 didn't let me run it any higher). Still on 1.9v with the HSF on min (zalman 9500cu with fanmate) it still didn't go over 40°c on full load :D

1.9 is very high for an A64, the chips life probably going to be short, maybe a year and a half.

Box processor with a 3 year guarantie so I'm not woried. After 3 years it's going to be obsulete anyway.
