is it true that I don't have to unplug my 2n card anymore for installing ccc?
OMG this is the best think happened to my pc since orange box and the 3870,
I take always almost 40min to update drivers because I need to unistall drivers take my 3850 out and install the 3870 first and only then I install the 3850 drivers. which means I need to reboot or shutdown completely at least 4times for this procedure.

I hope it is true but I am with real doubts... I'll try this as soon as I get home.

Just switched from 8.2. The Driver works. Not saying Im seeing anything amazing from it. I dont sit there and run fraps or anything 24/7. COD4 works fine as usual, Stalker Works Fine, only games Ive test.

Software Windows Server 2003 R2 as a Workstation now migrated to W10 with regrets.
It works on the AGP 3850. No improvements. Possibly, small reduction in performance. But nothing serious. Recommended.

thrilled here with my xFired 1950 PROs. No performance loss in-game or benchtesting while in Crossfire mode, unlike the massive hit with CAT 8.3 TBH, I've noticed a decent performance boost with STALKER after installing 8.4. FPS with my setting used to average 40-80 FPS, now I'm averaging 50-110 FPS. :twitch:

I was having problems with Catalyst 8.3 in Supreme Commander Forged Alliance with flickering trees, lingering effects, and fog of war glitches so I had reinstalled 8.2. As of 8.4 the problem still exists, so I'll submit them some more feedback.

Also didn't the drivers enable the option for multi-sampling or super sampling for adaptive anti-aliasing for the X1K series of cards. I don't remember the exact driver version (I can go look though, my old computer still has them with an X1300pro), but it seems to have disappeared at some point. I thought maybe that the statement in the release notes about AA options being available under XP with certain configurations meant they fixed it, but it's still missing.

I think the MS/SS was with CAT 8.1, IIRC - although, the most current beta of ATT still supports MS/SS.

Personally, I install CCC and the drivers, but I disable CCC and just run ATT instead. Less hogging of system memory, and easier to use interface, IMO.

For the longest time I had to use CCC so that I could enable/disable Crossfire. ATT didn't support it - TBH, I don't think the current alpha release does - but the beta releases worked great for me. Crossfire control, all CCC options. No need to have CCC running.

To disable CCC from loading during bootup, go to Start>Run> and type msconfig into the box; click on the "startup" tab, and deselect the box next to the item labeled CLIStart
