ATI X850XT AGP problem

My problem is that I can not get my tv to see the video signal from my card. I am running out of the 7pin s-video to component. I read the Catalyst guide saying I should be able to change the TV format that it sends in the graphics settings, yet I don't have that setting anywhere.

there should be an option to force the res change in CCC itself!

No its not a res change it needs. It needs a signal format change like Europe is pal and the USA is ntsc

so you have a PAL card that needs NTSC or vice versa...IIRC some cards came with a tiny onboard switch...on the actual card, if not then I think you may be out of luck!

The thing is I have used my card on another tv before with no issues. It was on a newer tv but I don't think it should have changed anything cause I was using the same connection setup.

Because it is not working now and the only this I can think of is that it defaulted to a different format for some reason.

The card would not have switched formats, unless the tiny flip switch, would have had to been changed!(if they are there at all)

they usually use a jumper switch like CMOS mine was located on my board along the top edge IIRC it says in fine print PAL/NTSC :eek:

but i think it may have to do with your connector/adaptor

nope just took the card out and there are no jumpers or switches to be seen on it.

I had the exact sam eiisue when I had mine. I was using the little adapter in the back s-video to RCA composite and I never got a picture. I just gave up in the end, I've actually got the same problem with my current card. Oh well, can't win 'em all

No switch at the green arrow? pretty sure this is where you change from PAL to NTSC if that is the problem. Never hat to touch them though so I'm not 100% on this. The manual should say

Are you using the supplied cables for the VIVO option? I only hooked up to a TV a couple times, but used the factory cables both times.

That card you are showing me is the PCI-E version. I have the AGP one which I saw no such switch on it.

in your display settings right clock on desktop got to iirc

desktop->properties->in the display tab go to were you can select a monitor. does more than one show up? if so you can click on the other display and enable it or select it from the drop down menu thats how i did it when i connected to a tv

that switch is apparently for Switching between NTSC and PAL

My Card has one

the HIS X1950 pro has a Jumper.

Forget my last post, 65tweet was right on the money. I just pulled my card and checked and guess what there is switch. Though I have no idea on which setting is which with it.

i have no idea the only thing i have to offer is try wat i said above the ati guys would need to tell you what those switches do i couldnt find anyhting googling nvidia doesnt do it via switches or jumpers and all the ati cards i ever owned never had any that i know of but they also didnt have this prob so i didnt care ot look.
