ATI X850XT AGP problem

I don't know why not. Its out of warranty and it has been bios flashed so they wouldn't even touch it.

Ok so my problem has been solved. I took a nice late night drive to where I work and I hooked up my compy to the HD tv and boom it works. And so this means my home tv is just crap all around. Thanks for all the input and help though guys.

Dude if you bought the Card from a 3rd party such as Sapphire, HIS, Visiontek etc and not AMD directly (First party)- they dont know what the 3rd party boards have on them, its your poor judgement that makes you think ATI is at fault for this when its not. Also there are some tech support people who are lazy or actually dont know- and that is true for any company.

Well yeah there are lazy people in all companies. Though mine is from ATI no third party. But I would have to say that at first when I tried getting in touch with the tech support they transfered me to AMD. Now that guy I got really did try to help me and he didn't even have full product knowledge.

ya the 850 was Pre AMD so AMD really Focuses on stuff that came out about what 2-3 Years ago- Aka Radeon X1k and higher i guess, the one thing i want to see return is the First Party Radeon Line instead of 3rd Party Boards.

Just a thought but maybe if you switch to a low resolution before connecting it may work. The manual says any resolution higher than 1020 X 768 (page 25)will result in no display on a normal TV.

Possibly an older version of catalyst/CCC will do the trick if you're still interested in trying also. When I last hooked up to a TV I used late 5.? drivers. Personally the video quality was so poor though I wouldn't be bothered to try ever again...till I have a HD TV anyway.
