Quite impressive, and even though they said the drivers were quite mature, I hope they improve things dramatically once the new 8.7 or 8.8 drivers are out at the launch of the card.

my take on the review:

ati murders the 280 when it comes to gaming.
crysis is optimized for nvidia
nvidia performs better on synthetics and hd content..

they probably have the fan set low like the 4870 but turn it up and temps run fine

1.5k-2.5k rpm doesn't seem low to me, any higher than that and it would probably sound like a jet engine

thats the low for these fans , these fans can go upto 9000rpm .

why dose gpuz show clock at 900/1000 but they say they can only get +15/+30

i don't think 3- gtx280 will beat 2- 4870x2's and x2's will cost less

uh huh keep telling yourself that despite the fct that the benches seem to differ, and to me benches trump random dudes fanboyism. but maybe thats just me. no gtx280x2 is in the wors, a revision to the core at 55nm is. not a dual. and seeing as amd can use 4gpu['s at one vs nvidia's 3, I think quadfire 4870's could easily beat tri sli gtx280's as they're one whole gpu up.

Sure they will - in Crysis!

All other games can be played at 2560x1600 with 4xAA with GTX 280 SLi, let alone Triple SLi. And with Triple SLi, it will beat the crap out of R700 in Crossfire X.

Don't make me laugh.

The 55nm core was retracted days ago in favor of the GT300 - a core with 384 ALU's, which will tear through AMD like a laser through a transistor.

But if you have a board with four PCIe x16 slots, then go right ahead, my AMD fanboy friend.

Yeah common 1280x768? NO AA NO AF?? Are you F'n serious? 99.9% of any game at that setting with a high end card is going to be cpu bottlnecked. The only reason I give them the .1% benifit of the doubt its because it is Crysis. Still my 4850 crossfire plays Crysis at 1920x1080 all high just fine, so why would they even fathom testing it at sutch a low resolution and consider it valid in any sort of way. Plus they only used a 3.2ghz cpu to start with!
