Best Half Life 2 Mods?

plus i need to get CTF again and other mods like fist full of frags

synergy says you can do half life 2 cop op and also the episodes

i wouldn't mind doing some of half life 1 with a partner but on the highest difficulty, or sitting doing episode 1 again with someone

i dont have a mic tho and i dont know how to do synergy, yeah i started my own server but it was just one of its made up maps

I too have interest in synergy and cooping the original storyline.

Garrys mod had it, but it crashed a lot. I wonder if the latest versions are any better.

Garrys mod you have to pay for and for me at least i like it but im not paying for it

we could start a small co op club for those who want to do online co op in games
youd need a mic to join tho preferably a headset

4 gigs of ram and a 64bit os recommended.

I loved a lot of the new textures, but I really hate how they practically made everybody look like a super model. I liked that Alyx and other characters with coats now had physical properties to those coats, but I thought that Alyx's overly-accentuated boob jiggling was stupid. As well as the wiggling pouches on her back. Yes the pouches would wiggle slightly, but these reminded me too much of a duck tail for some reason. Plus that one City 17 character that has a green hat, and the other one with spikey hair that is pacing in the beginning bothered me. Where did you get hair gel, and why are they letting that dude keep that hat?
I wasn't a big fan of some of the new gun sounds either. I was okay with the RPG sound, and even the SMG sound was okay. The magnum sound just pissed me off though. I thought the old one was perfect. I was indifferent on the pistol sound; the original sounded like a mouse click on crack, and this new one sounds strikingly similar to the same noise as when wood breaks in the game.
The symphonic music was sweet, but there were some songs in particular that I wished were the same. (IE: when you put the hazard suit on it didn't play the Valve theme.)

Overall I'm 50/50 on the whole thing. I haven't really played much past where you get the pistol in the game, but I used impulse 101 to see what the rest of the guns were like. I think they could have made the game appear nicer without completely redesigning the characters, but at the same time it's nice to show off what the source engine is really capable of.

I've been watching Black Mesa: Source for close to two years now. I can't wait. I've still yet to hear any indication whatsoever of a release date though.

It's a lot more subtle than say Soul Calibur, but still kinda stupid.

EDIT: And here is that video. The first part is just showing the new gun sounds. The video obviously doesn't do the visual improvements any justice. Given they weren't as drastic as I was expecting, it's still noticeable.

i found a garrys mod coop map, which may be fun to play through.

Gmod kind fails with the HL2 levels, because they're so short - you build awesome things, get to the end of the level and have to remake them all too soon - anyone know any good levels to download for it?

Mark, try Zombie Masters...it is a RTS/FPS.

The way it works, is one team is a bunch of survivors, and the other is one guy who control's zombies and traps. The survivors have to gather up items and stay alive, with limited ammo and too many zombies....its a blast.

Zombie Masters, lol sounds like a crappy rip off Zombie Panic Source, at least Zombie Panic has a community and following your bound to get decent players every time you play zombie panic.
