Maximize your gaming potential with the full throttle power and portable performance of the G Series from ASUS, part of the prestigious Republic of Gamers product line-up that represents the most innovative and best performing PC solutions for gamers today. Designed for gamers from the inside out, the G Series range now includes two striking new models: the G71 (17"wide) and G50 (15.4" wide and 15.6" wide) that give you unprecedented muscle to take on all comers with a full deck of features that enables you to stay in control of the gaming action. The stunning hardcore styling is alive to the pulse on the street and the G Series is hot to the latest gaming trends - leading the way into new computer gaming frontiers.

Total Gaming Solution
The latest NVIDIA GeForce 9700M GT gives the G Series unprecedented and blistering graphics power, promising a smooth, stutter-free visual experience - the best imaginable 3D performance on the move. This experience is further bolstered by the G Series' high quality displays. Not only do they boast a quick response time, hence delivering sharper images without ghosting, their screen sizes are calibrated for optimal performance, the best example of which is the G50's world's first 16:9 golden ratio 15.4" screen size.

In addition, the G Series notebooks feature double SATA hard disk drives - with the G71 offering up to 1 Terabyte in capacity - letting you load up more so you can make sure you get plenty of action whilst on the road. You'll be able to play more games, watch more videos and store more music. Last but not least, the CPU LevelUp feature gives you an edge with its range of performance modes that deliver a performance boost when it is most needed.

G Series notebooks are also equipped with full-sized keyboards that are designed to allow complete control over your gameplay. Gaming hotkeys give you an edge over your opponents. As you dig deep into the game, the G Series even comes alive with fancy LED lighting effects along the notebook's side while the back changes colour according to the fan speed!

The Complete Gaming Kit
Get the full gaming package when you buy a G Series notebook, including the must-have Republic of Gamers backpack. The package also includes a professional-grade 1600dpi gaming mouse that offers real-time sensitivity adjustment and a Siberia Steel Gaming Headset that accommodates extended sessions of gameplay in cool comfort.

Second Display for Instant Messaging
When gaming or watching movies in full-screen mode, the G Series' second display will keep you posted on any incoming emails, messages and system status information so that the main screen remains free of interruptions for absolute immersion.

With power and performance, substance and style, the G series will revolutionise your gaming experience.

OHHHH! Close, but no cigar. The 9700M GT is just a OCed 8600GT (or 9500gs take your pick).

I would have been interested if it was a 9700M GTS!! It actually has more stream shaders.

9700M GT is okay but i just looked at the cpu and wonder why they choose such a gpu

9700M GT would be good as mid level for laptops, i mean id take anything over a onboard intel! at least you would be able run a few games with this laptop

hey trip... i wouldnt worry about it.... i remember spending £3000 on a lappie a couple of years back... and couldnt game for longer than 10 minutes as it was using a P4 desktop derivative processor.... obviously strong, but worthless ass it generated so much heat it couldnt run.

Laptops are laptops... and desktops are desktops... untill i have concrete proof of otherwise, i wont be parting with any more hard earned cash again ;)

well to sum it up.... personally after having an overclocked gaming rig... i cant say that spending any amount of money is going to recreate that...

You kind of asked for that one.

One of those lappies with an 8800m gtx in it begs to differ :).
