9800gt vs 8800gt

Which is the better card in performance wise. I hear the only real difference is that the 9800gt supports 3 way sli.

i heard that the 9800gt was a die shrink and should run a little cooler and use a little less power

Will the 4850/4870 have more performance over the 9800 gt? As i look at 3dmark06 scores i am starting to see the 4870 around 14000 and the 9800 gt around 13000 so i am going to say the 4870 is better?
