I've been looking at the different cooling options for my 2900gt as the stock cooler is pretty noisy under load (for decent push of air).
The options I've seen are:

Arctic Cooling Accelero Xtreme 2900
It's just too long and I read there's problems with the fans and num of connections needed.

Thermalright HR-03 R600
Supposedly the best of the bunch, but it's huge and expensive and doesn't exhaust air.

Im not sure if the Akasa Vortexx Neo fits as it doesn't specify 2900gt (mentions only the other 2900 gpus)
Seems to be a good cooler but anyone know if this'll fit a 2900gt?

Have I missed any other coolers?

I recommend you Accelero Xtreme 2900. I've had this cooler with HD 2900 PRO and it worked perfectly.

The thermalright is good, but I used to have a 2900Pro flashed to XT. I cant stress enough how much a difference the upgrade to 4850 made. Less heat, less noise, and less power sucking.

Accelero Xtreme 2900 is a really good choice. I've managed to overclock my card to over 800MHz with this heatsink.

I have had both. They both cooled to within a couple degrees of eachother. The Acelero extreme is just as long as the card. Both need a good deal of room to install. The Acelero turns it into a triple slot card. The Thermalright will also if it is mounted under the card but can also go above if you have room. The thermalright doesn't even come with a fan. The Acelero needs help from rivatuner to make sure they start.
