I won't be selling anything, but well, maybe I might. :toast:!

I'll be waiting for 18th October, when the i7 is released, all prices will drop! It's a great time to strike! Remember the saying, "Strike the iron when it's hot!" Yeah !

haha  but in all seriousness it is a good tactic to wait for newer and faster to pick up the next range - like how everyone went crazy for the 200 series from nvidia and the 4800 range from ATI and got stung because "0mfG! i must have it nooo0ww!!!11!!11!one!!!". lol. Ill be getting one of those next year when the 2 companys decide to release the newest fastest ones. Ive learnt from my mistakes haha - paid £180 for my GT on launch - you can get them for £70 now haha.

Slow and steady wins the race! :toast:

I'm don't get this build.. Why go all bragging rights wannabe, and then stick with old tech with a DDR2 based platform.. Your memory doesn't fit with your CPU FSB either.. It's below.. I could understand it if you went for faster memory for an overclock.. Or maybe it's just me not getting DDR2..

If you can stick it out for the i7 launch anyway, go for the pricedrop on DDR3 platforms.. I don't think the DDR2 platforms will drop at all.. It's so cheap anyway.. It would be a for a stock clearing or something then..

The pricedrop won't come right away though.. Demand will rise, so will the price.. Then the memory makers will overproduce and flood the market, sending the prices down again..

Just go DDR3 now - that's basically my point.. Or you'll keep waiting for the next thing to happen..

What? The board supports up to 1200MHz FSB. And DDR2 could be overclocked to higher standards than DDR3 1333MHz. And, the DDR3 chips run hot, and they are VERY expensive.

FSB through the cpu is quad-pumped, the memory is rated at double. You would have to run 533fsb (or 2132mhz rated) to run a 1:1 ratio w/ your memory at stock (1066), although that is not necessary, and should be fairly easily attainable, that's what he meant. And I doubt very much you'll bring that up to higher speeds than 1333, I doubt you'll even come near that. 1200 maybe. Not that it matters much w/ fsb, it's a big chokepoint. I think ddr2 is the better choice for 775 platform.
