    Does Software drain Battery Life

Of course having several apps running will use more battery compared to just having a browser running, was there ever a mystery with regards to this ?

EK Water Blocks Releases EK-Vector Series Water Blocks for AMD Radeon VII

We are talking about a card that can run almost 450mhz above it's typical stock clocks (which is like what a 25%+ overclock ? ) on water. The same cannot be said about any Nvidia card from recent history, I find that even more troubling.

What's the most interesting mid-range card for you?

None really, it has been almost 3 years and the performance/dollar bar hasn't moved much.

Several Gen11 GPU Variants Referenced in Latest Intel Drivers

I believe it will be the complete opposite, dedicated graphics chips are becoming more and more expensive (to manufacture and to sell), I think APUs will slowly become more and more relevant. Those millions that play Fortnite don't need a thousand dollar 2080ti, a 150$ APU is enough. The reason...

Samsung C24FG70FQU + gtx 1660 ti would freesync work?

But you would pay 280$ for a card that's about 10% faster ? An odd choice.

Intel Gen11 Architecture and GT2 "Ice Lake" iGPU Detailed

Which is also faster, regardless AMD's next integrated graphics are going to be on 7nm soon.

Intel "Ice Lake" GPU Docs Reveal Unganged Memory Mode

Caches are unfortunately not very useful for GPU architectures, they need a lot of instructions/data delivered all at once as opposed to a few instructions/data delivered very quickly as is the case with a CPU (that's a very primitive description but it's good enough). They need a lot of...

Intel Gen11 Architecture and GT2 "Ice Lake" iGPU Detailed

The real question is, how will this end up in their chips because this new design will take up a lot more space. This is screaming for 10nm.

Without Silicon, Intel Scores First Exascale Computer Design Win for Xe Graphics - AURORA Supercomputer

It's not unheard for such contracts to be commissioned before certain products hit the market officially but we are talking about something of which there is exactly zero information out there. There isn't even a trace of any prototyped silicon out there somewhere being tested as was the case...

RTX and DLSS in Shadow of the Tomb Raider

I do and the technology is objectively underwhelming, with or without unrealistic expectations.

RTX and DLSS in Shadow of the Tomb Raider

In Nvidia's own words : "Graphics Reinvented" Those are big words, I expect it to be pretty life changing, "your expectations are unrealistic" just doesn't cut it.

Intel-only Spoiler vulnerability disclosed. Tech press response: 'crickets'

The real question is why was it that AMD basically got more or less the same level of IPC out of their designs without these vulnerabilities and Intel couldn't.

Microsoft Brings DirectX 12 to Windows 7

Then wait it out until the hardware supports the things you want. DX12 was meant to be a low level API that reduces CPU overhead, a really major release, this kind of fragmentation couldn't have come at a worse time.

Microsoft Brings DirectX 12 to Windows 7

Windows 10 has been installed on hundreds of millions of machines right now according to Microsoft, pretty sure the adoption rate of a compatible platform is no longer the problem of DX12. It's all on the developers right now, Microsoft has done everything we could have reasonably expected them...

NVIDIA GTC 2019 Kicks Off Later Today, New GPU Architecture Tease Expected

Your comment is cute. Meanwhile, what has actually happened in the real world : (marked the launch dates of both 20 series and Radeon 7) Regardless, nice try.

NVIDIA GTC 2019 Kicks Off Later Today, New GPU Architecture Tease Expected

No high end part from AMD is in sight, it will all come down to whether or not the RTX series is selling well enough. They have no reason to compete with their own products, I suspect Turing was a money pit and they will like not let go of it any time soon.

Best laptop for using an eGPU in early 2019?

If you plan to use an external GPU, I recommend you reevaluate your options. Either get the laptop with the desired specifications from the get go or get a desktop, eGPUs are a sub optimal solution.

Crytek Shows Off Neon Noir, A Real-Time Ray Tracing Demo For CRYENGINE

Ray traced elements have been used for years for approximating all sorts of effects such as global illumination, there was never the case of needing a particular hardware/software framework for these things to work. GPUs these days are no longer GPUs, they are compute accelerators with some...

Crytek Shows Off Neon Noir, A Real-Time Ray Tracing Demo For CRYENGINE

RTX is Nvidia's business, what they do with it is up to them, they may dedicate entire chips to it or do it exclusively in software there is no requirement for any particular hardware implementation. Regardless , with dedicated hardware or without RTRT isn't feasible as a particularly useful...

Toms hardware now getting payed by Nvidia?

People have the tendency to treat every company out there and their products like some sort of indecipherable black box. If a product isn't released yet it doesn't exist and has no prospects of doing so as far as they're concerned, some metaphysics type shit. That's a stupid, closed minded...

Toms hardware now getting payed by Nvidia?

Only if you were completely oblivious to every technical aspect about the chip and everything that was going on in the industry. It was clear as daylight that GK104 wasn't the flagship and something bigger was on it's way. The most accurate and reliable metric to predict performance/future...
