Can't Manufacturers implement a system to check what is being run to prevent miners?

Why on earth would they NOT want miners to buy their cards?

    OFFICIAL Mass Effect: Andromeda (Discussion)

Long before NMS. I've seen every sequel be bashed into the ground for its perceived flaws for at least 10-15 years. I paid $30 for Andromeda, but in all honesty I wouldn't feel ripped off had I paid $60. It's an above average game. It's not a masterpiece, but few games are. What's DS3? Dark...

    OFFICIAL Mass Effect: Andromeda (Discussion)

I think the game got a bit too much hate to be honest. I was hoping to see it improved via further patches, but I never felt it was a terrible game. Same goes for Dragon Age: Inquisition and Dragon Age 2, which also both got a ton of shit from the community. Both were inferior to Dragon Age...

Yes, it *is* possible for Steam to run out of stock!

According to people on the steam discussion forum that game actually is working fine and keys are being given out. Someone claimed there was a shortage of keys months ago, and that the problem was since resolved but the warning wasn't removed when it was.

Yes, it *is* possible for Steam to run out of stock!

Not sure why there'd be a finite number of copies without license keys. I do see why a developer might provide a not so reputable (or just a seller with a less proven track record) reseller with finite copies to protect themselves, but Steam is reputable enough that any developer should know...

    looking at a new phone

I have a Moto Z Play, and got it for free with a 2 year Verizon contract not that long ago, but even if it wasn't free, it might be the phone I'd pick. It's not the fastest phone, but it's "fast enough" as far as I'm concerned. It is however, the phone with the absolute best battery life. Its...

Yes, it *is* possible for Steam to run out of stock!

I'm guessing that's because the game has some form of secondary DRM that steam can't just create keys for?

    OFFICIAL Mass Effect: Andromeda (Discussion)

This is just sheer stupidity and something no one should ever say, about any videogame series. You don't have to play the game if it comes out. There's no benefit to you if it doesn't come out. You can hope they learn from their lessons and make a better game next time. You can predict they...

    OFFICIAL Mass Effect: Andromeda (Discussion)

Except Bioware no longer gets any say on basically anything. EA calls the shots. Halting any plans for future DLC or improvements just really comes across as their way of saying they're basically considering it a failure not worth fixing or repeating. If they want to sell a sequel to it later...

Looking to buy a new gaming laptop

The GPU's absolutely do not consistently perform a full tier below what they're called. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0725WXVRG/?tag=tec06d-20 https://www.notebookcheck.net/Acer-Predator-17-X-7820HK-FHD-GTX-1080-Laptop-Review.207172.0.html...

    OFFICIAL Mass Effect: Andromeda (Discussion)

Game seems fine to me. Wasn't the greatest thing since sliced bread, but I enjoyed playing it. Disappointed they dropped support for it so soon though. even if they weren't likely to break even on it you'd think they'd try to fix it more as a sign of good will and to try and bolster sales for...

Looking to buy a new gaming laptop

Portability doesn't really matter to me. I mean, it matters enough that it needs to be a laptop - but not enough that the weight of it will be of major importance to me as opposed to performance or price. The Acer Predator has faster black to black, and grey to grey response times than the...

Looking to buy a new gaming laptop

Not sure if this is the right forum for such threads since laptops aren't built perse, but it seemed closer than any of the other forums. I have a laptop with a 960M, but its performance is quite underwhelming. Looking to replace it with a more powerful Pascal-driven laptop. I take my laptop...

    Laptop Refresh rate

1060 3 GB is what I compared to the 1070 in my post above. It will play most games at 60 fps on high settings. 1060 3 GB vs. 6 GB is mostly a marketing gimmick. 3 GB of GDDR5 is plenty for 1080P gaming.

    Laptop Refresh rate

I just remembered that you're the same poster that was previously asking whether to get a GTX 1050 or 1070, unfortunately my post above may not be a great comparison then as it was comparing a 1070 to a 1060, but a 1060 is more than twice as powerful than a 1050, so if those are still your only...

    Laptop Refresh rate

That isn't what I said.... "I've never seen a laptop with G-Sync, FreeSync, 120 hz, or 144 hz monitors that didn't specifically advertise it as such." I've seen G-sync laptops, they just all use its existence as a major marketing detail of the laptop.

    Laptop Refresh rate

I'm not a big fan of the idea of buying a 1070 in a desktop intended for 1080P gaming. I think it makes more sense in a laptop though. In a Desktop I think getting a 1060, and then a Volta GPU with the price difference between a 1060 and a 1070 in a year or two will be smarter - but with a...

    Laptop Refresh rate

Probably not a ton. I think the GTX 1060 is a massive upgrade compared to a 1050 or 1050 TI, but 1070 vs. 1060 seems to be a much more marginal upgrade, especially considering the cost difference. I guess what specific games you are likely to play will determine if the 1070 is worth it to you...

    Laptop Refresh rate

I've never seen a laptop with G-Sync, FreeSync, 120 hz, or 144 hz monitors that didn't specifically advertise it as such. None of those are common enough that sellers leave them out of the description.

New PC dreams / switching sides from Intel to AMD.

I've known plenty of people that stream as their career and have much weaker videocards. You only need a crazy powerful GPU if you plan to stream at 1080P@60 fps, which almost no one does. Most streams are still 720p, heck, most are 720p ay 30 fps even.

New PC dreams / switching sides from Intel to AMD.

Kaby Lake and Ryzen processors are both locked out of updates on any version of Windows older than Win 10. Though frankly I am confused why anyone would prefer win 8.1 to Win 10.

    Gtx1070 or gtx1050 laptop

Here's a brief comparison of 1050, 1070, and everything in between: Each videocard has two number's listed, it is their respective fps on high, and on ultra, both at 1080P. Playerunknown's Battlegrounds: 1050: 34/24 1050 TI: 45/untested 1060: 78/53 1070: 90/75 Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War...
