FineWine===>FineVinegar FuryX Aging Horrible in 2017

Shhh please, stop making a fool out of yourself and showing us how ignorant you are, my statements are clear: Geometry (polygon + tessellation) performance on FuryX is bad, that's why it sucks in most of these games, you are the one confusing Geometry Shaders with fill rate with polygons...

Sigh, Fill rate is not polygon rate man, educate yourself better next time. Here have a look: https://techreport.com/review/28513/amd-radeon-r9-fury-x-graphics-card-reviewed/4 Games don't need to use heavy tessellation to cripple the FuryX, they just need to use high amount of polygons in...

You are the one mentioning GS not me, What matters is: FuryX has a very slow polygon rate and tessellation compared to 980Ti, that's what it holds it back in addition to it's limited VRAM, don't try to confuse the matter with irrelevant jargon.

Geometry performance is both tessellation and polygon rate , this has nothing to do with Geometry shaders! don't know where you are getting this! Your are trying hard and failing!

No it's not, most of the games where the card is affected have no VRAM limitation on the FuryX, the card just chocks due to it's bad geometry performance, games like Ghost Recon Wildlands, ME Andromeda, Tekken 7, Agents Of Mayhem, Dishonored Death Of Outsider, Project Cars 2, Forza 7, Total...

??? Are we looking at the same graph? 980Ti is 75fps and FuryX is 58! 980Ti is 30% faster here mate! Are you blind? They test with High Textures, if they tested with Ultra the difference is huge in favor of the 980Ti, here you go...

All of the late 2017 games that Fury chocks on are final AAA games. So what is your point exactly? What a pathetic evidence you have! you mention one site with none of the 2017 games, while the OP gave at least 40 links to at least 20 games, and you have the audacity to consider what you say as...

LOL, open the Reddit link in the OP, and show me those multiple sites that contradicts dozens of hard proven links and Youtube comparisons! Your words against this kind of evidence equals nil I am afraid.

Hardware Unboxed arrived at the same conclusion: The 980Ti is aging considerably better than the FuryX!

That's natural. but hat's not the point at all. The point of aging badly is that GPUs fall below their natural position compared to the competition, or to cards from different tiers. The FuryX should be always faster than RX580, but not in a lot of new titles, it's not.

Only big Kepler aged badly for NVIDIA. Tesla, Fermi, and Maxwell aged fine. The GTX 480 still beats 5870 in the majority of games to this day.

They tested using DX12 which reduces fps on all cards, from both NVIDIA and AMD. NVIDIA cards are hit more than AMD though, which skews the results in the favor of FuryX. If you test the robust DX11 which everyone plays the game with, the 980Ti is considerably ahead.

Don't give a damn about Vega, focus on the FuryX vs 980Ti numbers please.

Did you read the article? the tested the new driver and found no difference whatsoever. http://www.pcgameshardware.de/Star-Wars-Battlefront-2-2017-Spiel-60678/Specials/Star-Wars-Battlefront-2-Benchmarks-1243688/

There is something called "testing different areas in the game". Guru3d tested the opening sequence which relatively closed spaces, these run at insane fps because none of it is visually taxing. They also tested with DX12 which is proven to hampers fps on every GPU from AMD or NVIDIA...

FineWine===>FineVinegar FuryX Aging Horrible in 2017

Yep, testing a lot of DX12 titles with worse DX12 performance than DX11: Battlefield 1 and Deus Ex Mankind Divided have horrendous DX12 support that harms fps on all GPUs. DX11 works better for all GPUs. Tomb Raider and Hitman perform badly on the 980Ti with DX12, but perform faster on DX11...

Exactly, Kepler underwent this exact transformation 2 years after it's introduction, most Kepler cards had VRAM limitations compared to their AMD counterparts (ie 680 2GB vs 7970 3GB or 780Ti 3GB vs 290X 4GB). Also Kepler was quite bad at compute. The combination of both factors lead to 780Ti...

It's not AA that has the Fury tripping over, it's usually textures and Tessellation.

Testing high end cards with the max settings is the standard procedure in benchmarking. We are not going to invent the wheel here, or pander to specific GPUs. Kepler was announced as a bad aging architecture based on the same merits.

Because these newer games have already been tested and have shown the FuryX dropping hard behind. See the dozens of links in the Reddit thread!

That review is useless with respect to the current discussion, none of the late 2017 games are included in the review, which is the point of the OP, FuryX is aging badly in these games.

The reddit post is filled with this : Mass Effect Andromeda 980Ti is ~40% faster than FuryX @1080p, ~30% @1440p! FuryX is barely faster than a 480 or 1060. http://gamegpu.com/action-/-fps-/-tps/mass-effect-andromeda-test-gpu...

Typical AMD fanboyism at work here. When Kepler dropped in a few games, the whole AMD fanbase started screaming: NVIDIA gimped their old GPUs, Kepler is bad. GCN ROCKS!! But when FuryX is flat out dropping in every AAA release, it's now cherrypicking. Double Standards at best.
