Transfer SSD system disk to HDD...

I mean, just boot up the restore disk, restore system disc image to new HDD, shut down, boot up on new system disk and then let W7 "do whatever"... The Samsung 840 SSD is running with TRIM a.o. things enabled/disabled... W7 will detect and change things back to "normal" running?

Transfer SSD system disk to HDD...

I'm fully covered in multiple backups and full drive images... too much "expensive" working stuff floating around here. What you're saying is: just go ahead and let Windows 7 figure out the rest? Thanks for the ultra-quick reply btw.! :D

Transfer SSD system disk to HDD...

I've searched extensively, but all links insists in pointing to "transfer HDD to SSD", so... here we go! :D Are there any "traps" in doing this? Anything I should pay attention to? Or am I right that it's a simple, straight forward operation? My system backups are created by Acronis btw...

    "Synchronizing" 5970 and 5870?

Have been running this Tri-Fire combo some time now for stability and temp-tests. All fine. Good scaling too! However, first time system is switching to 3D-mode, there are some artifacts. By alt-tabbing to desktop and back to game, all's clear again. Next time there are no issues when...

Finally done! Except cleaning, I now see... :slap: Alas it works/moves more than I thought. Despite me being careful, there is now a fine line showing under top plate. :wtf: Should have followed first idea to make a tiny gap under plate, too late now. But next time! :D And who cares...

This will probably freak you out then! But don't worry, no PSU was harmed during these takes! Nice piece of steel to make holes for tubes. Only needed to lightly file the edges. Of course there was an existing 3 mm hole that got in the way, but for looks the tube had to run there...

Especially with kinks in the tubing! :shadedshu Got a major shock yesterday when I dismantled the thing. One of those "Brain to eyes: Reception denied!" experiences. The tube above the pump was not only kinked but was in a 90 degree sharp bend! Could not believe how on earth that passed...

Oh, temps are not the issue here. Going for looks only :o Again, for looks only I'll keep the the MB blocks out of the rig. Neither the few inches of tubing nor the 7 angled fittings were the cause of the "slow" flow. The DCP 2.2 is just not that powerful. Flow was good from the start from...

While taking a break and enjoying all cabling in case is finally finished... ... he suddenly realised, he couldn't live with this after all! Rebuild #67.2A underway! :banghead: Will bolt cooling box to case and let tubings run straight down through bottom of case/top of cooling box...

I paint everything that's floating on the desk... :shadedshu Tip of the Day. If you're going to use spray paint, make sure things not supposed to be painted are: 1. covered 2. moved outside paint zone 3. not your own stuff 4. same colour as paint The camera came is in...

Man, that is so beautiful! :rockout: Brother!!! Looks really great! :toast: Oh... wait... it's not the black edition! May I suggest both Whilhelm and Jzv to paint these ugly Cross-Fire bridges matt black? Imho it would improve the otherwise great look a lot - as... I'm a close to...

Agree! Going back to aircooling for Mosfets, NB/SB. Heatsinks are drying atm after being painted matt black. Only got the waterblocks for looks anyway :p In the image you can see the back of the stand in which rad, res and pump is placed. Under construction, same basesize as the Fractal...

Well if you have to know... ATM it's freakin' upside down! :banghead: Turned out to be a way too restrictive loop - about to remove cooling heads for MOSFETs and NB/SB :banghead: This is the price you pay when you don't take advantage of the forums, i.e. don't ask for any advice or...

The graphics card with the hottest looks!

:D it's a HIS 5870 with bracket painted white (will go into a Fractal Design case) and fitted with an EK RAM backplate and EK waterblock. In nickel... and since it'll run TriFire with a 5970 that have a CU block, I decided to spraypaint them both black... :shadedshu Turned out rather...

    ATI reference card fans

Smallest package ever shipped! Btw. the fan used by Sapphire on my card is made by Foxconn, but I haven't been able to locate it anywhere on Foxconn's site? Or anywhere else for that matter... Perhaps imperialreign can make a search with complete model number, once he have it in his...

    ATI reference card fans

Tell me about it :shadedshu Was planning to add a 5870 to my 5970 - both equipped with the Arctic Extreme coolers - and ran into that exact issue But you avoided the offer. Don't you want me to unscrew the fan and post it to you? Forgot to ask, but how did you get the squirrel part into...
