2019 the Year of 1TB SSDs: Prices Fall by 50%

I did not know that. This just means there are no real downsides to QLC over TLC for an average home user. I will probably replace my 500GB 850 Evo with a 1TB 970 Evo Plus sometime this year.

2019 the Year of 1TB SSDs: Prices Fall by 50%

I keep important data on two internal hard drive and an external one. Some important files are also kept on dropbox. I don't have any issue with a (faster than TLC) QLC drive that will be used only for the OS, applications, temporary/working files and games. If it crashes it will simply get...

G.SKILL Launches Trident Z Royal Series DDR4 RGB Memory Kits

I like the crystalline light bar but I don't like the gold finish on them. They look acceptable on silver. I would prefer black or grey brushed aluminium.

AMD Announces 2nd Gen Ryzen Quad-core and Energy-Efficient Processor Models

I'm curious how the memory is connected to the CPU for the 2300x and the 2500x. If both channels are connected to the same die, we might not see the same performance improvement by using faster memory, and those processors might have some performance unlocked with low performance memory (2400...

Phanteks Announces the Evolv X Chassis

7 months ago? that's nice. I went to buy it last week, but had the luck, as it turns out, for the shop to be closed at that time. This will definitely be my future case. Anyway, there's also this version, which I can't find on their website -...

Lenovo Confirms AMD Ryzen 3 2300X and Ryzen 5 2500X Specs

From what I remember the 2200G and 2400K are actually first gen Ryzen processors with Vega integrated graphics.

AMD Ryzen Threadripper 2990WX Cinebench Numbers Out

The first comments has some percentages, I just wanted to point out that those percentages are not related to the performance and core count difference of the two CPUs in the article. I know what I'm looking at, Prima.Vera is the one that does not know what he's looking at. And, apparently...

AMD Ryzen Threadripper 2990WX Cinebench Numbers Out

    I don't understand what you are comparing. (5099/3355) * 100 ~= 152 ==> 52% performance increase (32/18) * 100 ~= 178 ==> 78% moar cores.

MSI Drops First Hint of AMD Increasing AM4 CPU Core Counts

So munch IPC increase it actually ran away from the test PC - https://www.hardocp.com/article/2018/04/19/amd_2nd_gen_ryzen_2_2700x_zen_cpu_review/3 :))) Hopefully, techpowerup will make a review using all Core generations at the same frequency, to have a good test on the IPC of intel generations

AMD Ryzen 3 2200G 3.5 GHz with Vega 8 Graphics

The only issue I see with this CPU is the price of the memory. I can't conceive a new PC without at least 16 GB of RAM, and, being a Ryzen system, you really need fast memory (from what I saw in another review, 20% performance improvement from 2400 to 3200 MHz is realistic). Currently, the...

Intel i7-8700K Coffee Lake Memory Benchmark Analysis

I often just leave many applications opened, chrome has at least 50 tabs opened all the time. It would be interesting to see the performance impact of ram speed while having many apps run in parallel. For example gaming while encoding something with handbrake (using a single thread for that)...

    Intel Core i7-8700K 3.7 GHz

In Romania you can already preorder a 8600k or a 8700k and it will be delivered on Monday or Tuesday. Non k CPUs you can personally pick them up on the spot from the store - https://www.pcgarage.ro/procesoare/filtre/general-socket-1151-v2/

    Intel Core i7-8700K 3.7 GHz

I don't understand anyone who is disappointed about the 8700k performance. The chip is basically a 7700k with two extra cores and a small frequency bump. It's basically a 7700k with the multithread performance of the 1700x or 1800x, depending on the use case. Same thing happened 7 months ago...

Intel 8-core LGA1151 Processor will be 14 nm "Coffee Lake" Based

I agree with you both, but I was annoyed by "rip intel": AMD is still here after 5 years of "budget" CPUs. Intel did not yet really respond to AMD Ryzen. And Vega = 14nm, Pascal = 16nm, =>> https://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/AMD/Radeon_RX_Vega_56/32.html

Intel 8-core LGA1151 Processor will be 14 nm "Coffee Lake" Based

Why? who cares if their next CPU will be 14 or 10 nm? All that matters are price, performance, stability and energy consumptions. That's it.
