VBE7 - vBIOS Editor for Radeon HD 7000 series cards

My latest settings for HIS 7950 iceQ are 1030 / 1250 MHz @ 1.137 volts (BIOS 015.019 without EFI-GOP). It is fully stable over hours in all games and fast enough. Memory overclocking is because of the wide memory bus not important.

VBE7 - vBIOS Editor for Radeon HD 7000 series cards

I would go for 900 / 1500 MHz in your case. I recently tested my memory again. I discovered it was Elpida 1500 MHz memory (6 GBps, EDW2032BBBG) the whole time. The tested game showed some flickering in the past, but maybe it was an other problem. Metro LL now runs just fine with 1050 / 1500 MHz...

VBE7 - vBIOS Editor for Radeon HD 7000 series cards

I have a HIS 7950 iceQ Turbo without Boost (newest BIOS without EFI I think). I used your program to fix the clock at 1000 MHz with 1.11 volts for stability (ASIC 65%, gpu is at 1.10 volts). I let the memory untouched, it can hardly get past 1300 MHz. I think 1050 / 1300 MHz would be possible...

Looks like there is massive undervolting potential. This would turn the performance per watt a little bit.

Sapphire HD6870 Vapor-X BIOS to Toxic

Then it could maybe work but there is still the chance that the toxic has some other components.

Sapphire HD6870 Vapor-X BIOS to Toxic

It only means the I/O shield with the connectors are like the reference design.

Sapphire HD6870 Vapor-X BIOS to Toxic

You will have to flash it back blindly or put it in a second PCIE slot at a friend's to flash it back. I've done it several times but I would not recommend it.

Sapphire HD6870 Vapor-X BIOS to Toxic

Right, I think your VaporX has other chokes and mosfets than the XFX Black Edition card which is reference designed. I can't tell for sure, but I would prefer using Sapphire Trixx for overclocking.

Sapphire HD6870 Vapor-X BIOS to Toxic

I'm using the XFX Black Edition BIOS on my Asus card as well. It will only work with a reference designed card like this: http://www.ozone3d.net/public/jegx/201010/amd_radeon_hd6870_01.jpg

Sapphire HD6870 Vapor-X BIOS to Toxic

I don't figured it out, too... I would also love to flash my 6870 @ 1000 Mhz.

Sapphire HD6870 Vapor-X BIOS to Toxic

You can't change clock settings in the BIOS, there is a driver system that prevents it on Radeon HD 6xxx Cards. I wanted to flash mine to 1050 MHz GPU clock too... :( You have to use software such as MSI Afterburner or Sapphire Trixx to overclock your card.

HELP! i've been an idiot! :( (6950 Flash)

Do you use a USB stick with DOS to boot from it? It should work then... You could also try the -unlock option from atiflash.exe (or something like that), type atiflash.exe /? or /help.

    6870 Bios Flashing

Try to put your 6870 in the second PCIE slot and switch in the BIOS onboard graphics to "on" and detect first "onboard / PCIE".

    6870 Bios Flashing

So, i've tested the iceQ X Turbo X BIOS and it seems like HIS uses some other components on their card. I had a black screen and the computer won't boot anymore, just like after flashing the Toxic one. Thank you for sharing the BIOS, but it also doesn't work with reference cards, so i...

    6870 Bios Flashing

I've testet the Sapphire Toxic BIOS from techpowerup this morning and the computer won't boot anymore. This BIOS isn't compatible with reference cards. I had to flash it back with a second graphics card.

    6870 Bios Flashing

@ov2rey I ever boot to dos with a usb stick using this program and some dos files. The newest version of atiflash is here. If i screwed up my 6870 with a wrong BIOS i would use it in the second slot and another graphics card in the first pcie slot. You can boot to dos with this configuration and...

    6870 Bios Flashing

I've bought this cooler for my Radeon 6870 and the temps are between 50° and 55° C in Crysis 2 (75° C Furmark max). I combined it with the standard cooling solution. I removed the case and the radial cooler from the standard cooler and I had to grind off some aluminum for the heatpipes from the...

    6870 Bios Flashing

Yes, the Sapphire 6870 Toxic hasn't got a reference board. It's more like the HIS 6870 iceQ X Turbo X, i think. It seems like the XFX Black BIOS stays the best option for reference boards.

    6870 Bios Flashing

Hello guys, i'm reading the articles and threads of techpowerup for years and now I registered to share a Radeon 6870 BIOS (Toxic i think) with you. I found it here: http://www.overclock.net/ati-drivers-overclocking-software/959709-sapphire-hd6870-toxic-bios-link.html :toast: I flashed it with...
