Budget upgrade to my current card?

Got a new PSU and an 8800GS/GT/GTS on my "future list", managed to get an 7600GT for 17quid to last me for now (even though it's old it still whoops the x1650 Pro something fierce). Thanks to all the responses I received, I am extremely greatful to you all.

    mATX vs ATX?

Thanks, glad there's no functional difference. I couldn't see the point in forking out another 15-25 pounds just for 1 more pci slot and 1 more pci-ex1 slot .

Budget upgrade to my current card?

At the moment it is laughably low, under 40 pounds, the lower the better (got a lot or real life stuff coming up :twitch:).

    mATX vs ATX?

Hello, I have my eye on a mATX AM2+ board with PCI-e 2.0 compliance and 8gb total RAM (a big step up form my current mobo), it costs 50 pounds and is made by MSI (http://www.ebuyer.com/product/148368). However a friend on Skype told me to "steer clear, it's mATX", what does he mean? Are mATX...

HD2600 PRO much of an upgrade to my current card?

That's exactly my plan, use this upgrade for now until I can start upgrading properly again. Got a new processor on the way (5600+) and unfortunately have a very strict real life budget :ohwell:. Thank you for the info.

Budget upgrade to my current card?

Nice find on the 8800GS. I don't think my PSU could handle it at the moment though but it is definitely something for the future.

Budget upgrade to my current card?

(This is similar to my topic in the ATi forum but of course related to possible NVidia upgrades), I currently have a 256mb GDDR3 x1650 PRO, and am looking at some sort of budget upgrade. As far as NVidia cards I have the choice of the following: 7600GS, 7600GT, 7900GTO, 7950GT, 8500GT, 8600GT...

HD2600 PRO much of an upgrade to my current card?

I currently have a 256mb GDDR3 x1650 PRO, and am looking at some sort of budget upgrade. As far as ATi cards go, it seems I can pick up a 512mb DDR2 HD2600 PRO for a cracking price of less than 15GBP, but I was wondering if it would be much of an upgrade at all. Before anyone jumps in and starts...

    DVI-VGA adapters

Hello all, included with my x1650 was an ATi branded DVI->VGA adapter, which I need to use as my CRT monitor only has 2 VGA inputs. My question is a simple one; will this adapter work on any brand/model of card? The reason I ask is that I am considering an upgrade to a (likely pre-owned)...
