    [WTB][US] HD 6970 or flashable HD 6950

Thanks for the offer Cdnbum88 Since this is my once-in-three-year GPU upgrade, I want to *try* to get as close to cutting edge if possible. In my price range, I'm hoping to score a HD6970 (or equivalent)

I wish I could swing the extra $50, but I can't right now. Thanks though...

    [WTB][US] HD 6970 or flashable HD 6950

I have $233 in PayPal + a $50 gift certificate of your choice The GC is a safety award from work, and I get to pick who it is from (i.e.: Amazon, Tigerdirect, Best Buy, or about 50 other businesses). I'm looking for either a HD 6970 or an HD 6950 that is flashed or flashable to a 100%...

How To: Enable SLI on pre-i7/i5 hardware

Man... Just when I get ready to pull the trigger and upgrade to the latest patch & drivers, somebody has a mess and starts crashing right & left... I'm sticking with my older working config for a little while longer... :(

How To: Enable SLI on pre-i7/i5 hardware

My PSU only has 2x PCIe cables. I was using those two native PCIe cables to one card, and two double-molex to PCIe adapter cables to the other card. Worked fine, but the cable tangle was terrible. I recently picked up two single PCIe to double PCIe splitters at Microcenter. Now each...

How To: Enable SLI on pre-i7/i5 hardware

H0ly Cr@p! I just realized the implications of this, and I'm really cheezed off at nVidia. Imagine if Ford sold you a new oil filter that was programmed to clog if it detected non-Ford brand oil in the engine. Looks like my next off-the-shelf card is going to come from AMD :(

How To: Enable SLI on pre-i7/i5 hardware

I'm back, but I'm glad I was away... Good Lord, it sounds like you folks have been suffering. I just checked in on the progress, and there must have been 15 pages of new posts since I looked away. It appears there has been some progress, but a mixed bag of results. I'm going to keep dragging...

How To: Enable SLI on pre-i7/i5 hardware

Just catching up with the issue. So, from reading back, it looks like nVidia has released two new drivers: 260.52 and 260.63, right? I'll check back later to see if anybody reports success before I begin making changes (aka breaking) my working system. ;) Glendor...

How To: Enable SLI on pre-i7/i5 hardware

Progress report: Still going strong on the 257.15 drivers with zero problems. Is there any benefit to updating to the 257.21 drivers? (not that I'm going to do it, I just want to know what I might be missing out on...) ;) Glendor... =================== Antec 900 MSI 890FXA-GD70 (bios...

How To: Enable SLI on pre-i7/i5 hardware

I don't understand why you are using the SLIpatch, the X58 supports SLI & Crossfire natively, right?

How To: Enable SLI on pre-i7/i5 hardware

Another quiet nite of gaming and browsing without any problems or crashes. I hope they can fix the problem with the latest driver, but 257.15 seems to be a perfect match for my system. I suppose it's time to start thinking about that 3rd 275oc and a larger PSU......... Glendor...

How To: Enable SLI on pre-i7/i5 hardware

Seems stable Okay, I removed, and reapplied the 0.8b patch for Win7-64bit, and downgraded to the nVidia 257.15 drivers and everything seems fine. I have the SLI bridge installed, and I've run 3DMark Vantage & 3DMark06 several times without a single incident of any kind. The bench scores look...

How To: Enable SLI on pre-i7/i5 hardware

Johnspack - Any chance you are NOT using a SLI Bridge? You can put me on the list of folks with problems as well. I get the occasional BSOD on boot, and the random freeze/black screen when it does boot. I didn't have the problems when using SLIPatch 0.8 / 258.96 if I didn't use a SLI...

Ditto. My daughter happened to be looking over my shoulder when I pulled up the pics of your case, and she said "Why did he put all those extra cables in there?" Out of the mouthes of babes.... Clean up the cables, and I'll re-vote. Glendor...

[Case Gallery] Antec 900 Quad SLI

Thanks for the Score, and the comment. I was already working on replacing the fans with red ones, but with your endorsement of my idea, I'm making it a priority. Before I decided on red, I purchased four new Coolermaster blue LED fans about two weeks ago. They are very quiet, and move a...

[Case Gallery] Remounted my Zalman9700 as suggested by some memberz.

Nice components, but... ...too bad the view is obscured with all those CABLES. Forget the Dremmel and get youself a 1.5" holesaw for your power drill; about $10 at HomeDepot. It's a lot easier than dealing with the dremmel, and broken cutting disks, safety glasses, etc... And, don't forget...
